Laura-trekkie 2008-07-18 ch 5,	abuseAn interesting epilogue; moving, yet a little melancholy. It was good to know that Tony was still there all those years later, despite what had been feared. Good to know that Palmer was still around, too, evidently channeling Ducky's style. I was pleased to see Marie and to see where her and Ross' lives were going, and how much of an impact Tony and Gibbs had had on them. Yet it was sad, too. The team was obviously broken up and missing a few vital members. I liked the brief catch up about how everyone's lives had gone over the years when Tony looked at his photos, but it also served to highlight who and what was missing, as well. Like I said; melancholy. Maybe bittersweet, too, but on the whole it was a good feeling and a fitting ending.

Best of all, though, I loved Gibbs' 'chat' with Tony. I just hope the message sinks in, despite, or because of, the unusual method Gibbs used to deliver it.
Laura-trekkie 2008-07-17 ch 2,	abuseWell, that certainly answers some of my chapter one questions. Poor Tony, not good! Good on Marie for knowing to call 911, but where is she now? Will she be able to tell Gibbs some of the details he wants to know? Will Tony be able to remember enough about the man who knocked into him to get him caught and locked up? Will he recover enough to continue working at NCIS? I know Gibbs caught him job-hunting last chapter, but that could just be the depression making Tony believe he'll be unable to go back to work.

Denouement Intrusion 2008-02-13 ch 5,	abuseThanks for the alert. I must say this epilogue tied up everything beautifully, and in many ways made the story much better. Whether you planned this originally or it was a late addition, doesn't matter. It is exquisitely well crafted and emotionally engaging, and very very satisfying. Perhaps the best that I can say about it is that this epilogue resolves all of my earlier disappointments with this story - quite an accomplishment given how disappointed I was at the ending of the last chapter. I never had any problems with the quality of the writing - you may recall it was simply the ending that left me with an ultimately very negative taste in my mouth. That has been completely reversed by this epilogue. The bittersweet tone and the length of time that has passed in the story only makes this even more satisfying (though I'd love to know more about Tony's stint as a school guard! Undercover work?). Following up on Marie, and the gloves - I really just don't have words for how this moved me. What an amazing and impressive turn around in tone and mood. My original reservations about the quickness of the pressure brought to bear on Tony and the doctors' opinions etcetera still stand but this epilogue managed to take a story that had been a serious disappointment to me and make it into one of the best NCIS stories I've ever read. I applaud your skill and craft, I really do. Congratulations and again, thanks for alerting me.
