believable human foolishness from all of them. loved Jack-angst (always a favorite :)). good technobable... bittersweet end.. which I dare hope isn't the end? though I did love the duality of Daniel and Janet's very appropriate positions

Welcome back from Gate Con! I'm adjusting to real life, too. It took me awhile to get to chapter 10 because I decided to re-read 1-9. No hardship there. :)

I rather enjoy your signature angsty portrayal of Jack when Sam is hurt, sick, missing, or captured or some mixture of these OR killed. Jack then becomes gut-wrenchingly despondent, mean, and ready to hurt someone. He can't deal with his powerlessness when Sam needs to be rescued, fixed, cured, or saved. I may like a strong, decisive Jack when it comes to command and a strong, decisive yet tender Jack when it comes to lovemaking but I also like a vulnerable Jack. So, when Janet and Daniel chink away at his tough veneer we see the fear but then we see that he is open to help. Now with Daniel's empathy and support Jack can do something to help Sam afterall.
