A beautiful story... any chance for a sequel?

This is a brilliantly well written and very clear story and I've had a lot of fun reading it. I really like how you've pictured the American magical community and how different it is from the European one. Seems to me like a fair few of the more conservative old world wizards wouldn't be happy about how relaxed the standards are, but to them.

I can't help wondering how long until the idea of being Leslie back through making a living portrait of her occurs to Jesse. It strikes me that at some level he must be frightened of the idea at some subconscious level from him to have not already thought of it, and after that I believe that it would eat at him for a long time.

I kind of think it's almost a shame to leave it here without getting Jesse into Hogwarts and near Harry and all the other characters, but that would be a plot that it would take a fair bit of time to spin out.

Nice.

I liked the Dorian Gray aspect, even if you did make him American. *sniffs in disdain* As for Oscar Wilde, he no doubt spread rumours of his own, but he was also one of those who had rumours spread about him! Dorian Gray is definitely a masterpiece.

This whole series is brilliant, keep up the good work.

Lovely story. :) I've always adored the bittersweet quality of Jesse and Leslie's soulmate relationship. :)) Moving on.

Wonderful idea. Your version of the American Wizarding World is really unique (actually, I think it's the first I've read about) and refreshing, for some reason. Jesse' painting prowess is really amusing, too.

Wonderful writing style, as always. Also, I hope that this does, miraculously, have a sequel.

Thanks.

i LOVE this! this piece has always had such a tender place in my heart, and Jesse, the secret King, all grown up, never telling anyone that he is who he is, is such an amazing thought to ponder. I'm getting excited to see Jesse appear in the series, and hopefully, everyone will see just who he is.

Just wondering, in this realm, is Terabithia like real real? like there was a portal? or was it just really active imaginations?

I loved this story, more so because of the fact that I always fancied being an artist. My mom still insists that being an artist has nothing to do with 'talent' and everything to do with 'tons and tons of practice'. She refuses to listen when I tell her that you can't pull a talent out of thine air, nevermind through practice, and not having any talent for art, AT ALL, would make it rather difficult to become an artist. I still like to try my hand at drawing sometimes, though. :D
I love the concept; magical art. I never really thought about it. I always thought of it as some kind of spell that they cast after the painting is drawn, but this is so much more... magical, really. Truly amazing. Now you've made me want to go draw something. :P Beautiful, just beautiful.

Wow, that was an outstanding fic. I'd love to see more written. You fit the two worlds together very nicely, something I really love.

Ok... this is my first review EVER in more than half a decade of reading fanfiction... I decided to break my silence because I thought this universe was worth it, and I seriosly hope you bring the arc to completion. This is the first multi-fandom crossover i've ever read which manages to tie n mythologies and characters so well. This is sort of a review to the entire series and not just this one story...

I really, really like the where the EC series is going, and I'll love to see how Jesse fits into the entire thing... The characterisations of Susan is pretty believable, however the fact that Peter still tries to 'protect' his younger siblings... not so much.

Also, though for me the Trio's actions are actually more like 13-14 yr olds than what JKR portrays, the thing is they are slightly ooc as it is, with all the stuff they did now to the Pevensies' credit. The development of Draco is beautiful, and Will Stanton's inclusion is interesting, though I am uncertain about why the Ministry would allow such a major breach of the International Statute of Secrecy...

Sorry, about the length of the review ... I think I got carried away... :p But once again i'd like to applaud a rare well-written universe! Bravo!

Wow, once again you have astounded me with this story. I love the way your characters interact with each other and that bit about Dorian Grey and that 'rumour-spreading-muggle' Wilde was just fascinating, and creepy, at still a bit humourous (your rendition of Wilde was humourous not the story, the story was creepy).
As I mentioned in my last review, the way you blend together the two worlds is almost seamless and it still caused an ache in my chest to hear that Jesse still can't paint Leslie and can't find Teribithia inside himself.
One last note, I can't wait to see him interact with the crew from Hoggy, Warty, Hogwarts. Harry will be 13 or so right? Actually for some reason I really would love to see him interact with Luna. I think Luna could be really good for him. She's cool like Leslie was. Though maybe that could cause pain. And how old is he supposed to be right now? I lost track. 19, 20 or so?
Ah, I must head for my cot and sleep so I can get to my class on time tomorrow. I itch with anticipation of the next chapter and I leave you with one word that I gave you once before, though you might have a completely different idea entirely, and it is: pensive.

Gawd you rock.

I love how you brought The Picture of Dorian Gray into this story. The way you changed events from the book around to fit the plot of this tale was really clever and believable.
Your descriptions of paintings and the impressions Jesse recieves from art are absolutely breathtaking.
I'm looking forward to the moment when he rediscovers his mantle of kingship and is able to really portray his kingdom through art and magic.
I also liked your emphasis on the differences between American and British magical education.
Thank goodness the American schools take the viewpoint that magic isn't always the answer to everything.
Will the Pevensies recognize Jesse as a king?
Wasn't there an island mentioned in The Voyage of The Dawn Treader that had a similar name toTerabithia?
I wonder, is Jesse aware that his kingdom could actually exist in another world?
Thanks for sharing such a beautiful story, I'm looking forward to the next tale in this series.

I thought the Dorian Gray addition was faboo, natch. I'm sorry to see this end, but your use of time movement was quite interesting. Not long and drawn out, rather snapshot to the portrait, yes?

Can't wait to see what else comes out of yer wonderfully fertile brain...

i hope that the ending of this fic means jesse will soon appear in your hogwarts-centered fics. also, loved the take on dorian gray, though i'll confess all i know is from the movie league of extraordinary gentlemen. ;) i like the twist with frank and may belle, though i foresee trouble if it gets serious, considering his older sister's reaction to frank's family. looking forward to more EC-verse!
