I love you so much right now. This just brought up so many strong feelings and was utterly wonderful. The best stories are always the ones that resonate with the reader. Keep up the great work.

Conan does have confidants -- Heiji, Ai and even Agasa -- along with frequent snarking sessions. my interpretation of the characters would put Kaito at a lot more risk. that grin . . . .

not that you could exchange their roles. suicidal Kaito (even more suicidal Kaito?) = already dead, without chance for intervention.

I like this a lot. It definitely shows the more human and emotional side that can be draining for any who work on murder cases, whether they be P.I., police, detectives, forensics, hospital people, even the simplest clerk. It is nice to know and read that we are human...and we need things to cling on.

I also like how you moved Conan/Shin'ichi's dependency on staring at his suicide kit to having Kaitou Kid giving him riddles. Very good... I like, I like!!

wow. this is nice. at first i thought something really bad happened for kid and shinichi, and that they would drink together and have a bit of camaraderie. when i read the sleeping pills though, it came like a shock. imagine, shinichi feeling so down that he would resort to this! it was so unlike him.. but in a way, possible. and kid was there to bring him out of it.

i really love your fics portraying the relationship of kid and shinichi :)

Hmm. I don't know that I can imagine Shinichi/Conan doing anything like that - he doesn't seem like an angsty character to me, even in his current situation - but you made it seem quite plausible. Good work!

There's a fun threat. "I'm telling Hattori." Heaven knows the boy is something like a overprotective beagle. I like this, though Shinichi being suicidal is a bit on the creepy side. I loved Kid's entrance, and his challenge.

I think my favorite part was "I'm a thief, tantei-kun, I break and enter all the time." Not entirely sure why, even, it was just funny to see Kid stating the obvious like that.

Liked the way the Kid was looking out for his rival. The compassion came through very well, and the smoke's surprise was a cute and humorous way to end it.

Can you say BRILLIANT? Because that is definitely the only way I can describe this fic.

It shows a darker side to the whole situation, but it was handled very well and you did an impeccable job of adding light tones to it to make it more bearable. In-character characters, and great dialogue. I'll expect nothing less from you. Keep it up!
