Reviews for Waterloo

This one was so intense and emotional, I loved it!

"Don't look so embarrassed, my dear. Normal rules do not apply in these dark times. Feelings become intensified and courtship cannot wait on convention. A warrior needs to know there is someone to come home to."
Very interesting take on the Éomer /Lothíriel story

lol "And if I recollect correctly, it took me about two minutes to fall into your bed, but it took the best part of a year and a handfasting before I could get you into mine."

This story is SOOOO GOOD!

This one was the first of your stories I have ever read a few years ago and now re-reading it...it still holds the same magic for me!
It is superbly written and I like that you stay very close to the books just describing it from a totally different point of view. That's very intriguing!

Since reading LOTR first time I have been in awe about Imrahil and his Swan-Knights and the arrival of Théoden, Éomer and the Rohirrim. They all aired such an aura and without them all Minas Tirith would have been in ruin before Aragorn arrived to the battle.
The movies have been a total disappointment in this respect and I'm so glad you do them justice here!

Thanks for this treat. I'm sure I haven't read this story for the last time.

LBJ you are truly a gem and so is this story. It is one if my favorites! Like most of the reviewers I would love it if you expanded it a bit but I am most grateful to have it any way you choose to present it! :-) Keep up the fabulous writing dearest lady.

I enjoyed this fiction quite a lot even though that it's more sombre than your other ones. I still find in amazing how you are able to re-create the characters with a completely different but still believable personality with each new story.
Glory Bee 10/25/11 . chapter 2
Very good as always Lady Bluejay! I could only have wished the story was many more chapters long :)
Sic Vita Est 10/17/10 . chapter 2
I loved this one-shot. The darker tone to it fitted the background of the war but you balanced it with the humor between Lothiriel and Eomer. Actually, the whole exchange about his being in her bed made me laugh for the rest of the story (in a good way!) :)

Ah ! It's one meeting I love. I think that having them meet at that point in the story is very interesting, because very believable (if we think that Lothiriel is not at Dol Amroth). And of course, to find a such a king in her bed - I'd like to be her :)

Can't log in since ffn doesn't want me to review more than once, but this is still a wonderful tale! I had been thinking about it recently and finally decided I just had to reread it. And having done so, I couldn't resist sending along more kudos for a job well done!

I do enjoy a more realistic view of what it must have been like during and after the battles. This is an excellent representation.

I've re-read this several times now. I think I've read all existing Eomer/Lothiriel on the entire internet, and I keep coming back to this one, which I think really is my favorite. I've thought about why and I wanted to review again.

I think the Lothiriel in this story is my favorite because she's strong in a way that is feminine and grown up. I love that line where she and Cammir look at each other and are proud of themselves because they've been able to do what they have done. I loved that. I sympathize with her anxieties, and love her flashes of humor, her sexuality that isn't a caricature. I believe that's the sort of woman a guy like Eomer would be attracted to, and who would be worthy of him. She is true blue.

I hate to presume upon an author, but I (and I'm sure many, many readers!) would love to see you explore what happens when Eomer returns from the Black Gates within the continuity of this story.

I *adore* this story. I enjoy all your E/L stories, but this one is just... it's brief, but tells a complete tale, goes through an arc of emotions that I found very cathartic. Sometimes E/L fic goes into caricature, but I enjoy how you never do. You always approach these characters as reasonable, real people with real emotions.

Also, that kiss was fucking HOT.

Looking forward to more of your stories!
serenemiss 2/1/08 . chapter 2
Very enjoyable :) It would be interesting to see what happened after they returned from the Morannon (basically Eomer courting Lothiriel and her meeting various newcomers like Aragorn, Eowyn, etc.) Anyway, very good!
obsidianj 1/26/08 . chapter 2
I love this story. I had to giggle at Lothiriel 'practicing' her needle art on her brother. Luckily the poor guy found out only after the fact that he was the guinea pig.

You managed to convey the dread and horror of those hours during the siege. And I like it that the concept of a king is kind of distant during the aftermath of the battle. Lothiriel has seen so much she never imagined that a new king is kind of nothing spectacular anymore.

Finding Eomer in her bed when she was nearly dead on her feet was cruel. But so she got a good look on what was on offer. The final parting from her family and Eomer was even more touching, since now she had a very real idea of what they were facing.
