Drakonis Aurous 2008-01-28 . chapter 4This an excellent companion piece to "Inside Looking Out" and "Inside Looking Out: Firestorm". Here we get to see the time Kim was assigned to prison and the time she spent before being released. Sadly, it was decided to put her in solitary. We then learn that Kim wasn't the only one punished for teh whole incident, Betty Director also suffered althoug she didn't go to prison - her sentence was retirement for GJ. It is nice that there are people trying to help her despite the crimes she commited. Warden Carstairs seems to have her best interests trying to get Kim to a better facility. And Samuel Verne how always Kim Possible after she get out - interesting how facts come to light to keep Kim where she's at despite her failing mental condition. And the first days there were very ** her. A powerful story and very well done. Most definitely awaiting more.

tanith-4486 2008-01-26 . chapter 4Oh dear, her nana died. she probably lost a bit of her old self in that revelation of tregedy too... |
RonHeartbreaker 2008-01-19 . chapter 4Reading this made me sad. Well done.
I'm intensely curious as to how you get us from this tragic picture of Kim back to the damaged-but-whole Kim who eventually emerges from Supermax. |
CajunBear73 2008-01-17 . chapter 4Pretty bleak and depressing of how she spiralled downward in these first months there.
Then comes very bad family news. More to lose, more lost and more heartbreak during it all.
Hope Ron's visits go better, but that'll probably be so very hard to see.

BlueLion 2008-01-17 . chapter 4Oh my! What a chapter ending! Another blow right into Kim's mental limits - I really wonder what will finally turn the tide in so far that she'll start to develop any targets ...
As one author put it once: You're sending your protagonists literally into hell! |
captainkodak1 2008-01-17 . chapter 4My friend, this set of stories are my favorites of yours. This is just a great continuation of the story, telling the inside part of what happened to Kim. I look forward to seeing more. |
screaming phoenix 2008-01-17 . chapter 4You certenly do the job of discribing Kim's utter helplesnss
in prison.I almost can feel the walls closing in on me. If the Possibles react that way to Kim and her condition what will Ron do? |
RonHeartbreaker 2008-01-15 . chapter 3Oof. Grim. A very wracking look at Kim's life on the inside, with both emotional power in the scenes with Kim and Marla, and good, hard-boiled banter (if a little bit wordy, Heinlein-style, not that that's a bad thing).

CajunBear73 2008-01-13 . chapter 3Very powerful chapter of the behind the scenes working to get Kim where she won't lose her sanity. Those working for her, those working for something they'll get from later, and those who want to save her from falling into that abyss.
Sam's little talk with Tom shed some of what was in the minds of those who had been observing Kim, and Ron too, all those years she was in the business. Looks like they somehow still want her as an asset, if they can still 'acquire' her. And I'm gathering that Ron's little disappearances from their radar, completely surprising them all, may make him someone to consider also. But it was seen how this went while Kim was in SuperMax.
Assets, as they are called, can be 'acquired' or 'reacquired' in time. Sam's revelations about Betty confirmed this early on here.
Now, ways to help Kim without completely breaking the Rules is being explored and examined. Sam's information should help Tom get something going to help her and Marla can provide the 'touch' to keep Kim from slipping away.

screaming phoenix 2008-01-13 . chapter 3If anyone wver considered a life of crime they should read Kin's story before going on with their plans. You paint a very grim but realistic picture of both sides of Kim's tale.Things are never just black and white and sometimes, just sometimes, the good of the one is more important the the judgments of the many. |
BlueLion 2008-01-13 . chapter 3Interesting chapter. The editing (orthographics and grammar) is again at level 1 - after a minor lapse in chapter 2.
I find the subliminal logic in the plot just appalling ...
One life against millions ... you just MUST NOT make the decision ... reminds me that recently the German constitutional court has declared legislation which would have allowed the German Air Force to shoot down hijacked passenger planes unconstitutional - since the act would incompatible with the constitutional right to life and the human dignity.
Oh yes, I relate your fic strongly to the real world, and I believe you managed to implement a lot of your according thoughts into "Inside Out" ...
I'm not overly sympathetic with Betty Director or Samuel Verne, either. Betty's going on with how Kim destroyed her carreer - hey , just great, she's on pension, without any financial worries, I bet, and expecting mothership with a loved partner - opposed to Kim who is experiencing hell for doing the right thing - saving a life. And she obviously didn't give damn about Ron and Kim, who BOTH risked their lives time and again, so that GJ would be glorified. It's all about people have to "function" according to their rules, the higher-ups just don't care that they're dealing with humans here.
Apparently it takes people from the service, people like Marla and Tom, to realize the flaws in the systems.
Quite honestly I believe Kim's arrest conditions to be really disproportionate - not to mention the conditions of her parole - that AU of yours reeks of authoritarianism and fascism ...
I remember Kim's quote in Inside Out - "this country is sick" - I believe this society is sick, and where are the ones to cure this sickness. |
CajunBear73 2008-01-11 . chapter 2Good introduction of the start of the Warden's quixotic journey to help Kim during her imprisonment.
Glad to see there are still people out there who want to do right by Kim while she is serving her time in that SuperMax. It's gonna be a bit rough for Carstairs I'm sure.
Kim's going to eventually learn how many were affected by her actions to save Ron. Does she begin to learn while in prison?

creativetoo 2008-01-11 . chapter 2Excellent chapter. Here we begin to see how other peoples lives, and careers, were destroyed because of Kim's actions.
Looking forward to your next update. |
creativetoo 2008-01-10 . chapter 1Excellent opening chapter for this story. I'm so glad you've decided to go ahead and write this. I think it's an excellent addition to 'Inside, Looking out' and I'm really looking forward to reading the entire story. |
jiggermole 2008-01-09 . chapter 1This is good. Though I have no background in the original universe it was made in, it does help me out some. I'm working on a kim in prison scene and I was going along a similar isolation breakdown. The only addition I made was the repeated impact of skull on plexi-glass. Dour I know but it works. I like the whole struggle you have with the warden and what not with their hands tied. |
