I'm usually not a fan of Tifa x Cloud but it turned out really good.

Hi there, With A Smile! You've left me some lovely reviews in the past, and when I came across this fic of yours, I couldn't help but return the favor. :) (I unfortunately don't get a chance to browse ffdotnet very often, which accounts for this review coming more than a year and a half after the story. >.> Oh, well--better late than never.)

What really struck me and what I really like about this piece is the tone of it. It's from Cloud's viewpoint, and there's this great sense of awkwardness you've injected into the narration. It's stilted and uncertain, wanting that connection with Tifa while thinking he doesn't quite deserve it at the same time. He comes off as such a clumsy teenager when it comes to love, which is how I've always pictured him. And then Tifa, who's both more forward in her affections and yet somehow just as hesitant.

There's something very oddly delicate about it. Like large hands piecing together fine china, or something. And I rather like how there's no kiss or anything at the end (as least, not explicitly--though you can read into that "..." XD). There's something very tentative about their relationship, that doesn't want to push too far, and at the same time runs so deep, and I think you captured that very nicely. It's light...but it's not exactly "fluffy." Sort of soft and clumsy and sincere, and there's a lot of simple beauty in that. (Gah, don't mind my ramblings, haha.)

It's the kind of romance I like to read, at any rate. ;) All in all, a lovely piece.

This: "Lazy beachgoers and daring surfers all laughed and frolicked in the sunshine" made me giggle because it was so cute and random and made me think of Cloud and Tifa skipping through the sand. Aha. Cute, cute, cute.

Gorgeous, really. Loved it. The well concept was great, for a minute I was worried I was lyke, 'woa cloud, taking her to a chocobo farm would NOT be a good idea.'
