| brakken 2008-05-11 ch 19, | abuseThat is one suspenseful tear- and hope-filled place to end a chapter...I certainly hope that the continuation exists, or else I'd be quite disappointed...So far I've really enjoyed this. And I can't wait to see where this revelation takes their relationship now! Nice handling of the last scene especially, and I've grown to appreciate the spacing between scenes with the same characters, as it draws out the conflict, makes the moments last all the more...I like it much more now than I did before. It really added something here... |
| brakken 2008-05-11 ch 17, | abuseHm...No offense, but I found the encounters with Kyoukotsu a tad drawn out...Just my opinion on the matter, agree or disagree at your leisure. Moving on... Kagome's thoughts during the 'talk' were quite well done though. And what she said...Even better xD. Can't wait to see how that goes over between her and Inuyasha, they were rather suggestive in nature...And the idea that Inuyasha beats Miroku in the romance department is too great...Not that our poor hanyou doesn't deserve it after all the pain romance has brought him in the past, especially in comparison with the monk. I applaud your plot twists and dialog. |
| brakken 2008-05-11 ch 16, | abuseOh, that was too much fun...Kouga has to be one of the most absurd and ridiculous characters, but I can't help but love him for it. Only he could try and get a duel to the death because he smelled Inuyasha on Kagome...And I can't wait for that little 'talk' to start. It's great to see Kagome with some sense finally as well. She's been letting Kouga get away with his flirts a bit too long-as funny as it is to watch his jealousy, I empathize with that poor hanyou. Great handling of the situation in general, and the dialog in particular. |
| brakken 2008-05-11 ch 15, | abuseWell, that was intense...I really am enjoying the mix of fluff and action, heartache and happiness, quick and slow, action and reaction and resolution and all the little bits in between...You've got quite a melee of themes going on here, and you're keeping up the sense of line well (don't know how to say that without using a musical term. Sorry. I guess the best equivalent is to say that you keep it flowing together; it still moves from one part to the next, still feels like one coherent story rather than a bunch of other ones thrown together; it doesn't feel haphazard...Ack, you know what I mean) Good job anyway. |
| brakken 2008-05-11 ch 13, | abuseThat is one awesome cliffhanger. The build up to it was tense, setting up the climax perfectly-but without the resolution-so it feels like a song that's gotten more and more intense and comes to the final chord-but still hasn't resolved. Which is, of course, the best kind of cliffhanger there is (in my own humble opinion). So great job with that. The mix of suspense and fluff in this chapter was lovely as well, a good balance to it. |
| brakken 2008-05-11 ch 12, | abuseHehehe...Only that pair could have a moment like that end in an absurd fight with neither actually mad at the other, just...well...yelling out of habit I suppose. I could analyze it further, but where's the fun in trying to make it somewhat rational? It's much more amusing this way...And the thought of them coming into the clearing yelling their heads off with Kagome on Inuyasha's back, for once to his displeasure...Oh goodness this was amusing. No other way to describe it. |
| brakken 2008-05-11 ch 11, | abuseOh, that was too good...Shippou's interference was detestable, hilarious, and expected, all rolled together somehow...But the position they were in...! To be frank, I didn't find it limey at all, but (I'm a perv, and) it definitely seemed that way from outside the water...Hehehe...I wonder what compelled Inuyasha to start stroking her like that...I look forward to an extension of the whole 'you don't find my body disgusting, do you?''err...well, the truth is...' It is a quite hilarious situation. I shall keep reading for the sake of the afterwards... |
| brakken 2008-05-11 ch 10, | abuseHehehe...That's a great cliffhanger. I like how this story is progressing...I really enjoyed the scene with Sesshomaru and Rin, it was so sweet, and the sheer awkward-sauce hilarity of the last scene was so perfect...I can't wait to see what happens next. |
| brakken 2008-05-11 ch 9, | abuseWell, the fluff was lovely I cannot deny. So sweet indeed. Poor Miroku was probably disappointed though...But I certainly wasn't. That was adorable, and sincere, and his resolution, his reason for staying a hanyou was the best part of the entire thing. I've never heard that idea-ok, I have, but never worded that way, or, rather, worded so well. It really touched me. Aw... |
| brakken 2008-05-11 ch 8, | abuseInuyasha does seem to get a lot of people crying over him doesn't he? hmm...An interesting trend...I wonder why they go to him for emotional support-no offense, but he's not exactly idea...Maybe because they want to get their problems under control like his seem to be? It's an idea...Thanks for the fun of trying to analyze that minor phenomenon of the relationships, it was quite enjoyable. |
| brakken 2008-05-10 ch 7, | abuseUm...Yeah, definitely don't worry about focusing on Inuyasha and co. rather than...oh, I don't know, Kikyou? I guess a lot of people (fangirls, I shall never understand this branch) will miss their 'Sesshy-poo' but Fluffy was getting rather redundant in my opinion. The only mitigating factor was the obvious amusement and cuteness of Rin. Oh, and Jaken's complete idiocy. Always entertaining...So yeah, I guess I can summarize those scenes like this: I enjoyed them, but I'm not sorry for the focus of this chapter. And a very interesting plot twist I should add. Can't wait for him to wake up and have her all teary over him, with him embarrassed beyond belief of course...muhahahaha...Nice song selections too, by the way. |
| brakken 2008-05-10 ch 6, | abuseI liked this chapter. It was like...the rain. Nothing special at first glance, not flashy or action filled. But necessary. Meaningful. Peaceful, and quiet, and enjoyable in its own unique way. There's a term for the rhetorical device describing the use for the physical environment/atmosphere in a piece of writing to reflect the mood and emotional and plot-related atmosphere, and you pulled it off wonderfully (pity I can't remember it). |
| brakken 2008-05-10 ch 5, | abuseI enjoyed the added introspection (it always has been one of my favorite things about books-getting in depth into why and how a person thinks and acts, how their mind really works) although the added plot details get a tad dull over time...It's not like I don't know what happens with people, you don't need to explain every detail of the past of every character out. You can simply refer to it, gloss over it, or tell it in a way that's different, from a different perspective with a different conclusion. It would make the pacing better, and the writing overall more interesting. Despite those issues, I did enjoy the emotions of this chapter immensely, and the cliffie was the best of all. |
| brakken 2008-05-10 ch 4, | abuseNice...It occurred to me when I heard them talking that the impassive one had to be Kikyou, but the bitter one didn't sound quite right to be Kagura, though I considered it...This shall be quite enjoyable, clueless characters always supply such ample humor in such situations-usually it's Hojo or Kouga or even Inuyasha or Kagome, but this time around it seems to be this strange miko...The plot's certainly moving along better now, nice cliffhanger to end it! |
| brakken 2008-05-10 ch 3, | abuseHm still slow, but it's picking up...Some interesting developments in here at any rate- the obvious, what was that about for the ending, and what's making Kagome so depressed, along with the identity of the message-sender...Quite intriguing really...With the two women, one impassive and the other bitter, I immediately thought of Kanna and Kagura, but you emphasized the grown women part enough I'm doubting that idea...Still, all very intriguing. I'll keep reading. |
