SpaceHead3 2008-12-28 . chapter 8Hey great story, I look forward to the next update. |
Roruna 2008-11-23 . chapter 8LOL I'm so glad to see the Watch around. Congrats to Carrot for making Commander and yay 'Mister Vimes Always Says' mode.
Would it be asking too much for a little guest appearance from Young Sam?
Poor Stampede de Worde, it must be very hard to live in the shadow of both parents like that. I hope to see more of him too. XD |
Virtuella 2008-11-23 . chapter 8"Knowingly and Wilfully Causing a Bloody Racket"
That is indeed a serious offence, says the teacher in me, heheh.
And hurray, I've pestered you enough to get another chapter out of you, which I thoroughly enjoyed (the chapter, not the pestering...). And also hurray for the Machine For Playing Music Stored On Big Black Dinner Plate Things. And just one more hurray in a general sort of way. |
hi 2008-11-23 . chapter 8 This is a good story, just keep on writing. |
 Gogol 2008-11-23 . chapter 8 :D 'T has been forever!
*ahem* That said, chapter was ridiculously fun. (And the Watch is totally a bunch of not-very-secret secret patriots. With Vimes gone they must practically admit it. XD)Also, the footnotes were surprisingly sweet. As well as hilarious, obviously. Feel a bit sorry for Leonardo, but imagine that he'll take care of his needs eventually - he generally does. If explosions and Igors are involved in this process, that will be an added bonus.
Attempted assassination attempts are also approved of. By me. Because they spark PLOT. Am growing fonder of G, too. "Dearest" indeed. The speech was an interesting contrast to Vetinari's particular brand of avoiding-public-relations-like-they-were-crocodiles policy, and measured speeches. But then in the early days bet he got in one or two of his own. Wry smiles, wry shmiles.
Okay, am officially rambling now, will make exit while still possible. Down with first person pronouns! |
Merryryan 2008-11-03 . chapter 7 Wow, I'm impressed. I wish i could write that well. I always end up OOC. Please add more. |
TheifOfTime 2008-09-21 . chapter 1 This is the first seriously good discwolrd fanfic i have read so far! well done, and in the style of pratchett no less!
im going to have to work harder... |
Osprey Eamon 2008-08-10 . chapter 7Oh there are the characters! And aren't they wonderful. Especially the mob (because in Ankh- Morpork the mob is most definitely a character) and Igorina's reaction to it. It's kind of like you've tried to have as much of the city as possible in the chapter before Ignita introduces herself to it.
Another great chapter. Hope you are able to produce more soon. (and out is interest, where did you get the name Laetissimus from?) |
Gogol 2008-08-08 . chapter 7This chapter is really too awesome to discuss.
Well /done/! |
Virtuella 2008-08-08 . chapter 7The first footnote was excellent, and I had to laugh at Dibbler. Very true, very true.
"But you could rely on him to be a tyrant every day of the week" Oh, Eru, you are just so, so funny!
I must admit that after your holiday break, I've lost track of some of the plotlines, but as I said before, I'm mostly reading this to enjoy your witty writing, and witty it is yet again! |
AiSard 2008-07-19 . chapter 6interesting fic, loved it. its got a flair alright, not exactly identical to Pratchetts but very similar, and i do love Pratchett's humor and style ^^ if this fic were complete i could even delude myself that this was right up there with the real Discworld books (only for a second or so i assure you) its got an interesting plot and i have to say that your style is eerily reminiscent of Pratchetts but theres just something missing, some extra step that elevates the humor, defines the style, becomes everything that is loved and cherished in the Discworld universe. that and the fact that Pratchett would never kill Vetiniri, i mean, he'd be practically mobbed by thousands if he offs one of the favourite characters, and even if he stayed on as a sort of ghost type thing, a spirit kept tangible only by the immense power of belief, then he would be irrevocably changed and thats just not acceptable =X tho i guess it is here =P (and i think i read somewhere by someone that offing major characters, permanently, just isn't Pratchett's style [and i have to agree] i mean, can /you/ think of anyone? for i sure cant..)
anyways, love the fic, and hope you complete it, its got helluva lot of potential ^^ and its really nice to get to read a fic that has something close to the humor and quirkiness of the original Discworld books (hope i havent been too repetetive) |
fallacies 2008-07-15 . chapter 6This is pretty good so far. Hope you update soon! |
Osprey Eamon 2008-06-28 . chapter 6I... really wasn't expecting that... and there was me thinking that G was at least half normal. That's one hell of a werid life story. What -is- that guy? |
Gogol 2008-06-24 . chapter 6...G is a strange child, and his backstory made me wince.
As to the rest of it: eh. Some OOCness on the part of Vetinari and Death, although I liked the pumice line. Very much. :D Plus, I don't think it's necessarily untrue. Who doesn't like a very small rock that floats? Also liked the fact that eternity is big. And dull. And big. And... etc.
Waiting semi-patiently to find out how Trim is going to kick it. (He is going to kick it, right? Right? Please?) |
Maggoty Anne 2008-06-09 . chapter 3Hmm, Is G somehow a listening monk? It doesn't really matter, but exceptional hearing is rather an odd talent. |
