| Kits 2008-06-09 ch 1, anon. | abuse*laughs* You got me! I kept thinking, "Well, who is it?" and was honestly expecting Carter's pet mouse or something similar. The truth was inspired, it surely was. And of course Carter would be touched. The bit with Newkirk yoinking the chocolate bar was perfect, too. I love the other prisoners watching, knowing what's coming, but not saying anything. Very cute! |
| Glorious Clio 2008-01-28 ch 1, | abuseOh nose! Hahahaha! Termites are nasty little things, aren't they? Poor old tree trunk... good job! I liked it. |
| scc1fan 2008-01-28 ch 1, | abusehehe! I love it! There...does that count as chocolate?:) Kas |
| Fflur Cadwgan 2008-01-26 ch 1, anon. | abusethis was great! At first, I swear they were griping about losing a *person*, but then..."Find another hollow tree stump. And this time we check for termites." I had to do some quick thinking to explain my mirth to my folks, let me tell you. |
| marilyn p. 2008-01-24 ch 1, anon. | abuseThe STUMP? OH NO!! Not THE STUMP! {Sniff!} Such an undervalued member of the team. Always dependable. Never complained. {Moose with Bugle playing 'Taps' in background.} At least it died in the line of duty. Droll imagination you have, old girl. |
| Tuttle 2008-01-22 ch 1, anon. | abuseSure, just when I had everyone fooled that I was actually sane, I read this and started laughing hysterically! Oh man, like seriously, that was great. The tree stump. HAHAHA! Trust Carter to grieve over it! |
| Nitestalker 2008-01-22 ch 1, | abuseBoy is that a good one. At first I thought you might be talking about Felix. That was good though. I love it. It gave me the giggles. Have a good day and thanks for the laugh. |
| KCS 2008-01-22 ch 1, | abuseHahahaha! My parents could hear me laughing all the way downstairs and wanted to know why I had suddenly gone insane. Seriously, all the elements we love are there, from Carter's kind heart to Newkirk's sleight of hand, that possible drama mixed with outrageous comedy. I loved Colonel Hogan's poignant one line. "Nope." -hehe- And that last line - oh, dear. So very, very funny! Nicely done indeed! Loved it! -KCS |
| buffalo1fromSalem 2008-01-22 ch 1, anon. | abuseI like this. I needed a laugh, just fixed a plumbing problem at 2am |
| smithcrafter 2008-01-21 ch 1, | abuseTERMITES? I certainly hope they managed to fill in the tunnel UNDER the termite infested stump before the Krauts found it! |
| MG 2008-01-21 ch 1, anon. | abuseI DID NOT SEE THAT COMING.I wondered what could they lose that would be considered humorus. That was cute, the tree stump. Leave it to CARTER to take it so hard. |
| Linda 2008-01-21 ch 1, anon. | abuseHeeheehee. You didn't tell me this was coming! Love it. Termites!! All that mention of chocolate, though, made me go running for my precious back of US chocolate Hershey Kisses!! M... I wish Newkirk could steal me more of it! HA! |
| dart53 2008-01-21 ch 1, | abuseCute! And that would be Carter... grieving over a tree stump. dale |
| Pookwana 2008-01-21 ch 1, | abusePlease tell me that the story was not brought on by some personal experience with the problem! A high point was: “Oh, for the love of --” Newkirk muttered, tossing a pleading look heavenward. I could so see him doing just that as the others did their best to sympathize with Carter. Hogan, naturally is ready to move forward and consider it a lesson learned. Thanks for the chuckle. It warmed my heart on this very snowy day in Iowa. |
