Oh. I totally adored the rapid-fire change of POV between Mei and Takane. It gave the story much more of a frantic feel, whether intentional or not. I also love all the contradictions and parallelisms you inserted throughout the story; this one was my favorite: "Darkness was her ally, but now Takane felt betrayed."

Will there be more of this? The ending seems like a perfectly fine ending, just chronicling a rescue mission carried out by Takane, so it's a little bit up in the air on what your intentions are with the story. At any rate, it was a great read.

Is this a series of one-shots, a single one-shot, or a multi-chapter story? I'll keep a lookout regardless...

I agree with Midnight that it's good to see Takane do more than loose her clothes in battle. Good things: excellent magic battle (never a problem), loaded with good visual imagery (nothing to worry about there either) and stars two under-utilized characters in the heroic roles they should have. Bad things: ... uh ... too short(?). Of course if you're taking Hydriatus' route, that's not an issue since chapter 2 will be out tomorrow.

Well first of all, congratulations on breaking out of your writer's block. Nice to see you writing again. Secondly, nice work on the story material. Takane/Mei stories are few and far between, the ones where Takane is actually a threat to her foes being even rarer. Very nice job all around. I don't have any qualms or critisism for you, so once again, kudos. ^_^
