That was a beautiful story. I liked the most this part:
“You don’t need me,” Starsky said jokingly, trying to pull off a convincing smile.
I just love missing scenes and that was a particularly nice one.

You have a power of writing that is brathtaking. I could see Starsky strugging against the cramps and pain and trying to keep Hutch's spirits up.
