| IndeMaat 2008-01-27 ch 2, | abuseJust a thought, you may want to watch GI Jean for some ideas about how women manage to get accepted into a military all boys group. Cause I'm quite sure beating them at a man's game isn't the way. Strip poker is also not a game you'd want to play with colleagues for a few other reasons, but then, sexual morality has been noted to be different in 51st century, so there it might be a normal thing. Having said that, the difference of sexual morality makes me think that they also have different ideas about gender roles in the 51st century, and that for that reason the Time Agency has always been an equal opportunity employer. Equal for men, women, and aliens. So, why has the Time Agency only just allowed the first woman to join in this story? Jack Harkness is an assumed name, and I imagine so is John Hart. I don't know when these guys assumed their names, but I think it would not be at the start of joining the Time Agency. Remember how Jack said they were so proud of him that he had joined the Time Agency? I think he changed his name after he left. I don't recall exactly, but I vaguely remember from the episode "Kiss kiss, bang bang" that Jack and John told each other what the names are they were going by. They wouldn't have to do that if those had been the names they always went by. |
