 mhollins83 2009-06-15 . chapter 28What can I say but - Oh... My... God!
What a fantastic story!! I have just read all of the 28 chapters in one sitting with no breaks - I was that gripped!! Even my boyfriend trying to talk to me, and then later on him leaving for work couldn't tear me away!
The one thing I can say that I am disappointed about is that you haven't updated since 2008, and I really, REALLY hope that you do continue with this as I am desperate to know what happens.
PLEASE don't leave me hanging like this forever! |
Daemon hunter 2009-01-23 . chapter 28I have to say, this is a very compelling story. I found it a real effort to make this story last, as I couldn't help but think 'Oh go on, one more chapter.' I like that in a story. So that's a positive point right from the off.
On the whole, I like what I've seen so far for the most part. I think the plot is quite strong, and I like how it has developed. Rose's development has been particuarly interesting, and while I was sceptical about how she could become a pure blooded killing machine at first, but it was well explained and her healing was very well done.
In recent chapters, you've got me quite interested as to what the Kajoran agenda is. Clearly, it's not as clear cut as if first appeared, but you're certainly keeping us hanging on to find out. I also like how you've captured the mentality of an opressed society and the victorious conquerors, or the 'us and them mentality' as I call it. It strikes me as very close to realism, particularly the wild recklessness of the mob yu described in the mines.
But, and there are a few buts, I can't help but feel you could do more. Some of your chapters seem pretty dialogue driven and others seem to meander without much real point in places. In my opinion, more description is needed, just to get more immersion going.
I also can't help but think that the speech patterns of the main characters are a bit off in places. Now, this is just a personal thing, but I find it difficult to envisage the Doctor swearing, even after what the Kajorans did to Rose. There were other instances, I think, but they were only minor, and not particularly worth worrying about or mentioning.
And that's about it. Despite those points, I enjoy this story very much and I can't wait to see a new update. Good luck. |
Rasa Rainboweyes 2009-01-03 . chapter 28Uh-oh, not good. The Doctor better think of something quick, not only because of being captured, but can you imagine what Jack would do left to his own devices on the TARDIS with a bunch of newly freed slaves?
