Firstly, thank you for the tales :-) I love the way the characters are fleshed out, given depth and history. No one could live eight hundred years in unremiting gloom and depression, thankfully stories such as yours give a flavour of the times and enrich the background of the characters.
Malachi is almost too much of an evil, but like the old fairy stories of the child for knowledge though he demands his payment of choice.
It'll be interesting to see how you resolve this since the normal trickery will be hard to achieve.
Hope you have enjoyed writing; your readers have certainly enjoyed the chapters.
