Wow, this brought tears to my eyes! It was so sweet and well written.

Beautifully written, as always. You have a gift for description. I especially liked your description, "greasy gypsy." It was very creative, to me at least.

There is a tiny typo in the last paragraph, "Some stones stuck him..." (struck him?)

Oh my god. This was wonderful. My eyes actually are watering not just because it was sad, but because it was true. No child should go through those thought processes, and poor Erik has no choice because of how his mother was. I absolutely loved this story, it was brilliant!

This one made me cry for that poor, lonely, unloved little boy.
