So, they've finally met the militia. I take it that this is during the movie, since Billings is alive and in his usual element?
And do I detect a romance in the making between Ben and Eve? No offense to Charlotte or anything, but she was definitely my least favorite character.
I liked how Rose told them from the get-go that they were not welcome in her home; she's a regular spitfire, that one!

Great story! I feel sorry for Rose that she has to take care of all the girls and put up with their fights. Looking forward to reading more.

This is an interesting idea! A group of women struggling to survive...So I assume they have no relations living nearby? Makes sense. And I assume Rose is the only one willing to brave a musket? It wasn't a very womanly thing at the time!
Some of the sentences seem a little awkward, but overall, this is good!
And I'm watching Tcheky on Addicted To Love; that man is a beast!
