2009-11-09 . chapter 13
How do you manage to write such rollercoasters of action and reaction? This chapter was almost exhausting to read. I'm sad this is the end for now, because this is a vicious cliffhanger.

OMG. Okay, Fudge and his Aurors just rampaged through Hogwarts, Lupin is practically dead, who knows what happened to the Weasleys and everyone else hiding at Hogwarts, and THIS is when you decided to dump Draco into the story? You are either very brave or very evil! I wish there was more, because I MUST know what happens next! Please update, this story is so good!

Nice interaction between Harry and Lupin. I'm starting to be a little afraid every time they get together because Lupin is so complicated and I never know what terrible piece of info he'll lay on Harry next. This time, I guess he nearly said he's dying, which is probably going to be the last straw for Harry. The end is jarring, in a "What the hell is going on here?" sort of way, and then to have there turn out to be a notice-me-not or whatever charm on Fudge was just plain scary!

Well, you said it wasn't going to be a Harry/Ginny, but I guess the question is, is it going to be a Hardian/Ginny? I like the way you portrayed Ginny here, but still don't want her anywhere near Harry. A bit melodramatic maybe at the end, but I see you're still trying to throw Harry and Snape together as much as possible, which I guess is necessary for these kinds of stories.

What an awesome chapter. This is my favorite so far. I think you really redeemed Lupin a lot in this one, showing how he's struggling with things that Harry just doesn't know about or understand yet, and that he is trying to do what's best to Harry in spite of sometimes making mistakes. Harry is acting like such a typical surly teenager, too. The ending is HORRIFYING.

Snape is so overdoing it. It's only a matter of time before he gets bored of micro-managing Harry like that, since in addition to punishing Harry, he's kind of punishing himself, too. I don't suppose he enjoyed teaching basic wand movements. It will be interesting to see Harry take Lupin's advice and develop some new interests and hobbies. He really is sort of one-dimensional, even in canon. All he really has is Quidditch.

This doesn't look good for Harry. It's sad that after all he's already gone through, his friends might hate him. Too bad he has to deal with that, but maybe it will get him to go outside his circle a bit and get to know other people.

Interesting characterization of the Weasleys here. I like that the twins are back, and... the older Weasley siblings? That will be interesting. I like that you subtly debunked the idea that the Weasleys hold a grudge against Harry. That was nice, and dealt with the issue without some sappy long discussion about it.

Good thing Ron's kind of dumb. Imagine if he's walked into Hermione. I don't think he'd be able to pull off a meeting with Hermione, either.

2009-11-09 . chapter 7
Wow, that sure happened very fast. I don't trust this so-called modified Polyjuice that he's been fed. There will probably be some terrible consequence for taking it that they haven't told him about yet. In all, this chapter is pretty depressing. The best moment, I think, is when Harry pathetically wanders around trying to find Lupin. I totally feel bad for him.

This chapter is so action-packed! We finally find out a lot of what we wanted to know for so long, and it turns out it's worse than we ever imagined. How depressing for Harry. I liked how you used the newspaper headlines, and some of them are very intriguing. Foreshadowing?

2009-11-09 . chapter 5
Harry is kind of dumb. He guesses there's something going on between Snape and Lupin, and the very first thing he does is antagonize Lupin about it? Not smart at all, when he should be trying to keep on Lupin's good side, since right now he's stuck at Grimmauld Place with no one else to rely on. I really think he's too old (in canon, too) for this whole "I hate Snape so everyone else should hate him too" thing.

2009-11-09 . chapter 4
Ouch! Well, I suppose he did kind of bring that down on his own head. If I were Harry, I'd just quietly go along with whatever Snape wanted, instead of constantly getting on Snape's bad side over little things. I do see it from Harry's point of view, too, because little things seem to be setting off some disproportionately big explosions. I guess no one is having a good time right now.

2009-11-09 . chapter 3
Lupin clawed the portrait of Mrs Black off the wall in a rage? That's a nice, subtle touch to this. Lupin seems to be so out of control and barely holding together. And drinking? Clearly he hasn't had an easy time. It doesn't seem like a great environment for Harry, actually.

Heh. Yeah, good ol' Snape came to fetch Harry from the Dursleys. I never get tired of this, no matter how many times I read it in different stories. It's like, Harry, this is a big clue, this is how you know your life is about to be turned upside down. Interesting reaction from Petunia. I also really like the understated abuse from the Dursleys. I don't like how a lot of people write them so over the top abusive.
