Oh, my, this was excellent. It's intruiging that such an evil scheme, the putting of people in pies, is driven by love. I love that Mrs Lovett doesn't see anything wrong with what she's soing, as long as she's doing it for Sweeney.

I loved the way you related everything back to Sweeney, especially "These are evil men, for surely, as her Mr. T always says, all men are." The "her Mr T" was especially heartbreaking, because it's so clear he's not...

Nice! I definitely agree- she's not a bad person. All her jokes about priest pies and choppers tend to give people the impression that she's completely heartless, but I think she's just trying to distract herself from an unpleasant reality. You convey her rationalizing and willful blindness really well.

This story is absolutely wonderful. I love how you wrote that Mrs. Lovett didn't just want a life by the sea so she could be a family with Mr. Todd, but also to escape all the killing business and be a better person. I also like how you wrote how Mrs. Lovett tries so hard to convince herself what she does isn't bad. Very nicely written, and quite deep too.
