I can't really give any sort of constructive critique on this work, because it's pretty much shown how little I know about fonology. So thanks for posting this. It's helped get a grip on some concepts on my fanfic idea that I was confused with.

However, I do have one question: has there been anything mentioned about the miasma that wasn't in the main arc?

Ooh, this has got to be fun. I love the "science" of Auldrant, and this is a pretty good representation of it. I even saw a few quotes from the game, intentional or not. I also don't mind terribly if you take a few liberties with the game... it would be difficult to write On Fonology with just the knowledge from the game script.

This is not only interesting, but helpful too! Have you considered posting this in Gamefaqs? The science elements in ToA are a bit hard to understand, and facts are scattered here and then; so this kind of thing is really helpful to check once in a while.
