The intertwining and connections of the lines, the references to the beginning, you did it all so wonderfully. The green planks, the algae and fungus being compared to life that means decay, that's a big smiling 'WOW' in my book. I love that.

And the line 'I'm all sand on the wrong side of the hourglass'... that line was awesome. Makes you think, no?

I also like the reference to the confusion of the shades of gray, yet the chess pieces being black and white and that's what they are, yet they can't quite be defined as that.

I definitely know that there is a meaning to this,but I don't get it. You certainly had an update field day. I really really liked the last part, and the first part.
