Aww! That's really sweet. I like your opening line. Fantastic look at Djaq's thoughts. I especially like Djaq's comparison to Will.

This is a great paragraph:
“I’m sorry,” he said a crestfallen Will when she said nothing back. “I didn’t…” he sighed in frustration at his inability to express himself properly. Djaq wasn’t an ordinary girl, but he did feel like an ordinary boy when he was around her; he felt stupid and ignorant, like now. He lacked the ability to explain himself in an articulate manner. --Poor Will!

That was great. You gave Will and Djaq such a human air to them - their emotions and how they changed through time as they considered the situations they were in.

I think you captured Djaq's wisdom really well.

And I loved the line about Djaq not being an ordinary girl, but making Will feel like an ordinary boy. Very clever.

I love how Will doesn't know how to form the right words, fiddling with his axe. Also, how Djaq knows exactly how the young man's feeling.

It's touching. And it SO happened in 2.04!
