Kaito is happy, in spite of his task, and Conan . . . maybe isn't, in spite of his hopes. i'm thinking Kaito started out a little more well-rounded, maybe because of his mother? who was actually *there*, unlike the Kudos (in spite of not appearing; we'll assume she gets time offstage). at any rate, class clown may not be the most well-adjusted role for a smart boy, but it has to be better than stuck-up kid detective.

thank you for a story (two stories) that really makes one think again about familiar characters.

i liked kaitou here, him being that shaken after learning what shinichi had planned. though i am wondering about the 'drowning in lies' portion, how shinichi had been thrown into his world.

This point of view is very hard to accomplish so my hats off to you. You pulled it off relatively well. It offers such a nice perspective for him. (and I really found that Doctor Who quote amusing)

an interesting style. it took a while to get into (just a paragraph or two) but it worked well in the situation. i think it made it more identifiable. well done.

The quote was perfect, and not just because I love quotes; it really fit. I like how you show the drive and determination he feels and how you incorporate all the man-love without it being slash-y. This and Reasons are why so many of your stories are in my favorites list.

Wow. I didn't think that you'd write a sequal to "reasons". And it's well thought out and makes perfect sense. Kaito does need Shinichi just as Shinichi need Kaito, just in different ways. Kaito need Shinichi because Shinichi is his mirror opposite and twin. Shinichi need Kaito because Kaito takes his mind off things-murders, Ran, BO, etc. Without one another who nows where they'd be?
