I found Gurdy's fate cruel because he, unlike the Black Knight, was not spared from it by death. I would hate to live like he does. As for De Nam, you know I have a certain fondness for his character and so Anais Nin's lines mean a little more to me than the others. Overall though, absolutely excellent.
