abuseThank you very much - the best gift you could have gotten me, by far!

The allusions to what Maiyn will need to do soon are a wonderful touch, and something dearly missing from the game. One moment you’re in Amn, the whole Bhaalspawn deal pretty quiet, and the next, you find out huge armies have been raised. It would have been nice to have a little foreshadowing, and that’s exactly what you’re doing here: hurrah!

I think I know what will happen with the whole Imoen/Anomen side of the story. Or, at least, who will survive/die. I’ll keep my cards close to my chest, this time, and see if I’m right when you next update. Which should be soon.

And again, I’m with Ananke. Maiyn and Coran are finally behaving rationally, which can only be a good thing.. The relationship still needs time to mend, though. Oh, well.

I hope to see more from you soon. I’m really enjoying having something to read from you, after the longest period of nothing. Yay!

abuseOh, nice. The Order to the rescue, at last! Methinks they may be going to the Watcher's Keep?

And Maiyn and Coran... that's so nice. They are stopping being a soap-opera couple, and starting to be a couple? Right on time, if they are to survive what's coming ahead. :/

Thank you - looking forward to how you manage to get to the ToB section... :)

abuseOh my God. Imoen is not going to survive that encounter. Oh my God. I will cry my eyes out if she dies. Literally, my eyes will shrivel up because they will have lost every inkling of moisture.

And may I just say, thank GOD Maiyn and Coran were grown up (say wha'? There's a first!) and didn't get all ... jealous and petty. I am ridiculously pleased Maiyn didn't throw a hissy fit. It must be all the soul she's been getting.

I don't have much else to say. Just ... I hope Anomen rescues Imoen. And soon. (Or better yet, she can rescue herself, he can get trapped following her in, and then it's *her* job to do the saving. But not in an emasculating way, obviously. Anomen isn't confident enough to be able to handle that - she'd have to let him save himself at least a *little* bit).

Loving the break from conventional Baldur's Gate, love it to bits though I do, I gotta say. Thought I am also PSYCHED for the ToB section. (I realise I’m being quite childish in my reviews today - sorry :D)

abuseAnd, finally, Kairos. I can't wait to learn what that means. But Imoen's gone missing, and you finished on a cliffhanger, you evil, evil woman! Write more soon. Please? :D

I'm also extremely glad Maiyn and Coran stopped that silliness. :D So heartwarming...

abuseOh dear, this gets exciting. Imoen's curiosity is starting to be her biggest enemy... can't wait to see what will happen!

The Maiyn/Coran bit was nice, it shows the delicate vulnerable bond that they share. Cute.

Want more!

abuseLoving the contrast between the two perspectives of the chapters - I agree with Ananke. Somebody needs to knock some sense into Coran and Maiyn with a good slap. It's infuriating watching them make really, really stupid mistakes - makes good reading, though.

Loved the small details of Imoen and Anomen's part. Especially the meal - and the uncharacteristically refined Imoen. Can’t wait for the wedding.

More, please. :)

abuseYou know, I really wonder where you are going with this... Imoen is far too happy about unearthing the phylactery of a demi-lich, and Coran and Maiyn... oh, they are such *sigh* idiots, both! This reader wants to take their heads and bump them together.

But you're giving us a wedding! Whee! Now, I wonder what will go wrong with *that*...

:D

abusenice!!
ok, i am a bit wary of the changes in imoen in the last few chapters against irenicus, but i guess those things happen :/

just hope she doesn't get worse before she gets better (but just better before she gets perfect).

ch 4,
abuseIt's nice to meet up with all these old friends to see how far Maiyn has come. Coran though clearly has a very poor memory since he's going completely the wrong way if he's actually going to do anything about what he said he would do a very long time ago now. I suppose we shouldn't be surprised though... it's the same old pattern of running away and avoiding responsibility for the messes he leaves behind ;)

ch 3,
abuse"Beregost looked as quiet and small a place as Maiyn had fondly remembered."

Full of mad clerics and Sarevok's assassins and under siege by bandits and hobgoblins, you mean? :D The virtue of selective memory...

"She missed Alora the most, and Yeslick too. [...]"

I absolutely love this paragraph; because they really *were* old friends to her. She's not remembering abstracts.

It really shows how far you have gone into the story, I mean.

"But had he not just betrayed his own faith and beliefs?"

Oh. I sense a crisis of faith incoming. When Maiyn (and Imoen?) start to be more godlike... this should be good. I'm sharpening my teeth already. :D

Great to see you writing again. :)

abuseYes, I waited (not always very) patiently for this story to continue!

I like it very much! I like it how Anomen is in a dilemma, how his logic and faith collides with his emotions.

Please, do continue ;)

ch 2,
abuseIt's nice that everyone's together again... but, since it left a bit of a hole in Reclaiming with all the unanswered questions and unresolved issues she had (not to mention depriving us of another great character and very useful addition to any party), I do feel Coran needs to be reminded again that he still hasn't really tried to do anything about Aerie's murder :) And with other things returning more or less to normality he has fewer excuses.

Other than that, I really enjoyed some of the descriptions in this bit.

abuseYou, realise, of course, that I have no idea where you're going with this. Literally, I'm trying to think what you're up to, but I keep drawing blanks. Even so, this chapter was a nice introduction of things to come. It was quite chilled and ... well, it was nice there wasn't any of the WOW!Action!WOW that is a quite boring, let's be honest, but necessary part of BG.

I agree with Ananke, actually, about the "Ano" issue. Drives me around the bend. It's right up there with "Annoy-men". Well, Immy isn't me, I guess. And it's nice that the pair are expressing their love a little more, even if it is by using infuriating nicknames (and making innuendoes).

And I'm enjoying the dynamic in the whole Coran/Maiyn relationship. It was so long ago that they were properly together, that not only do they need time to grow together and remember how they were with each other, but I as I reader do too. And it's good that they aren't rushing things. I'm glad you haven't taken the cheap, "Coran! We're alone and I suddenly and inexplicably remember why I love you. And conveniently Xan is now out of the way..." ploy.

Ah, new plots, and unexplored territory. Looking forward to more, arabellaesque. And that reminds me: we need to come up with a shorter nickname for you - typing arabellaesque is such a mission. ;)
