| ofcatsandwomen 2008-02-15 ch 1, | abuseI read this before, when you posted it on LiveJournal and I really like it. Great job! I'm adding it to the Daredevil community, let me know if you want me to remove it. :) |
| Van-El II 2008-02-10 ch 1, | abuseWhile I have not been a Daredevil fan since Frank Miller's seminal run in 1981, I do have to say this captures the noir-ish atmosphere of one of his pieces, prior to him going crazy from writing Sin City, The Dark Knight Strikes Back and so on and so forth. Framing the fic within the stanzas of the prayer adds to the impact of this story. You have the dual nature of Matt's mission and his personal life: both of which are experiencing great upheaval and turmoil. I got a very solid grasp on this and the near-blasphemy of Matt's actions juxtaposed by the original intention of his mantra and Catholic Dogma. The most impportant person in his life has supplanted his faith, and this is not the first time it has happenned, yet it remains fresh to this reader. As far as your action choreography is concerned - the fight is described with as much grace, elegance and efficiency as the action itself.I could visualize the fight, almost with greater clarity than perhaps Matt could himself (given his Radar-Sense). I applaud you on what must have been a struggle to write as an avowed avoider of action sequences due to your fear of them. Finally, the friendship that Matt has with his long-time friend and confidante Foggy was a joy to read: it's rare to see the typically flustered man look so calm in the face of the mess Matt finds himself in. The whole thing was a treat to read from start to finish, and I am more than happy to give my endorsement! |
