Liked River's repeated references to her ape-man husband and avoiding/not avoiding him. Also enjoyed the reference to Book's hair, and catching Simon and Kaylee in the act. The rambling at the end was also very charming. Not to mention the parallel line of thought about not letting people know how much you know

I loved the Jayne version of this too but I have to say that this one actually made me laugh out loud. I like rule 18. I could imagine Mal's reaction. A really lovely little fic :)

Ya know...I definitely think it's a sign of a healthy relationship that both parties can be generally upfront about how their partner irritates and delights them. And the similarities between River's rules and Jayne's just help prove that though there's a technical difference in intellect, our beloved Killer Couple are connected in so many other ways;D

Cute. I wasn't expecting to find so many rules regarding Jayne, and from the looks of it, River wasn't so good about following them. Of course, the River voice going off in my head is reminding me of the axiom that rules are meant to be broken.

Rule #16 was my favorite but Rule #18 almost made me choke myself to death by laughter.

I would have thought River's journal-thing would have been a little more professional in the way it looked. But that could always be attributed to her insanity.
