Quite philosophical...I can picture this scene between Hiei and Kurama very well. Nice job.

I really enjoyed reading this. It's an interesting topic, something that makes you ponder it. I like your use of the language; nicely descriptive.

And about the quotes, I believe they were these lines: "Our world is no more permanent than a wave rising on the ocean." and "Whatever our struggles and triumphs, however we may suffer them, all too soon they bleed into a wash, just like watery ink on paper."

They're from Memoirs of a Geisha, by Arthur Golden, if I am not mistaken.

Blackrose, I'll admit I'm a bit lost as to the story's, erm, purpose. I didn't really know where it was going. On a side note, there are a few mistakes: "anger leaking into the words like a bursting," (wrong dam ^^;;) & " anyway, it is nothing fatal. I will survive…” (You used any twice). I hate to point it out, I feel like such a nit-pick. >> And I couldn't find the quotes. U.U At any rate, I hope your muse kicks back into gear soon (I know what it's like to wait on it).

that was awesome! it remided me of what I wrote for the leter B in Alphabet Soup: Kurama! I think I like the take of Kurama teaching Hiei something better than what I did. You are a wonderful author (somthing I don't say often here on I hope to read more of your works in the future.

I'll play and say that this is one of the two: “Whatever our struggles and triumphs, however we may suffer them, all too soon they bleed into a wash, just like watery ink on paper.”

Other than that, this was superb! And that's ALL I'm going to say because I don't have any words other than that! BRAVA!

hm, i don't think i found the quotes at all. meh, it's been a while since i read a book. :D anyways, this fic really did touch my heart just now. i finished watching an anime and two of my favorite characters died. The emotions that were in it were fueled by trying to remain in this earth, not dying. So, when I read this it reminded me of it. What are the odds of that? Well, I feel so much better since I read this. Though I think I might start crying now. :) great fic!
