I really liked this story. I haven't seen Growing Pains,so I have no backstory to go on; I actually found this story while searching the keywords 'anorexia' and 'eating disorder'. Still, the story you've written touches on universal themes that can be understood without Carol's backstory.

As somebody who suffered (and still continues to suffer) with an eating disorder, I was very impressed. You capture the emotions felt by the sufferer very well. This wasn't graphic or melodramatic, just heartfelt and touching. And uplifting. Well done.
