Whoa. What a heartfelt and very poignant story. You really tug at the heartstrings with this one and really make us believe what Raph is feeling. At least he got a second chance to see what his life was like and how it would have been had he never existed. I really hope that more people see your story and realize that life is worth living no matter how bad things can get. Nicely done on this.

This was a good POV fanfic, and very well written. I liked how you showed Raphael's relationship with each of his brothers and with a cherish memory with each one. It was great emotional depth when you described the bleakness of New York City through the eyes of Raphael and also his thought process of feeling worthless and insignificant to having purpose in life.

The only thing I was a bit uncertain about was Leo being around 5 years old (if Raph was that age) and having a katana at that age (I think Splinter would know how immature they are to give them such a lethal weapon). Maybe if Leo pulled out a manhole cover right when a guy was walking on it, and fell through and died would seem more plausible. But it was a good backstory that made Leo so intensely honorable and perfectionistic.

But that's just a very tiny odd thought, and not meant to take away such rich, great storytelling and writing. It's too bad you're not writing again, because you have some amazing stories...but I understand, life happens. All the best.

Besides being well written, the explanation for the relationship between Leo and Raph was really well done.

I'm not sure I would consider Rapheal the suicidal type overall, so I didn't like the ending as much, but I really enjoyed the exploration of how he views all the others and thier history.

I agree with Raphael. There IS too much to live for. Anyway, I enjoyed the fic. It was a little tear jerking, I'll admit, but other than that, it was sweet, well not exactly sweet but worth while for those who are thinking they have nothing to live for. They should read this and maybe they would understand that there is to much to live for. Pian is part of it, but you should enjoy your life while you can.

Great story! I usually don't go for agnst/WAFF but this story is a rare exception... so good job! :) I rather wish there was more to it, like a) what happened next b) what happened between when the guys found Raph's 'bout dead body and when Raph woke up. One second he was half dead, the next... Ah well. I'm crossing my fingers for a sequel or at least more stories along the same line. You are truly one of the best TMNT fanfic writers out there.
