Neville and Bizmy are so incredibly cute in the letters! And Edmund is so 'long suffering' with the dwarfs and 'Nancy'! He's really trying his best to keep Peter from ever knowing about this appellation, isn't he?

It's nice to know that not everything in your world of the Golden Age is about trekking into the Western Wild, bearing the White Witch's curse, or fighting off perverted Giants. (Not that those are bad. I love those stories, particularly "Into the West," but this is a lovely change of pace.)

Hyenas eating soap and too-old fish...nymphs wearing Peter's clothes...and Travers. /shakes head/ Oh, Travers. 'Do these ribbons make me look fat?'

Ha - I love the mental image of Bitsie, the twitching Collie. And the Marsh-Wiggle was brilliant as well. "Heads will roll and then where will we all be? Headless, I tell you."

"sausage again – it’s delicious here, Mum, much better than Auntie Frey’s notion of what it should taste like. The cooks use these things called recipes so food always tastes the same." I shudder to think what Auntie Frey puts in her sausage...

I LOVE the little nods to your other stories - you mention them without giving us an overload of summaries. The allusions to "Into the West" with the candelabra and of course to "Black Dwarf, Blue River" with Brint and "the Nancy" make me want to go back and read your other stories.

For some reason, I love that the Sloth's name is Paul.

"King Edmund leaned over towards King Peter and I heard him ask in a whisper, 'Is he asleep?'

'I can't tell,' King Peter said.

'Could he be dead?'

'Possibly.'"

"...or wander close to still waters..." Nice nod to "Into the West." (Which I just read the other day, straight through, for about three hours. It's amazing what one will do to procrastinate if one really wants to.)

I love how you weave an actual mini-story into Neville's letter. Neville's logic is both endearing and hilarious.

I should be writing my research paper which is due on Wednesday, but this is much more enjoyable. I'd read it once before but never reviewed.

"I don’t. Madam, how could you let this idiot out of your sight? He’s a danger to himself and others." Bizmy's comments are just hilarious and I love Neville's naivety.

I usually don't read humor fics but this was worth it. I don't think I stopped laughing the entire time. The characters were so fun and characterized beautifully. I just loved it all.

*laughing and applauding* As soon as I read the name "Blue River Smithy," I ::knew:: I was in for a treat! This was fabulous! I love it that poor Ed didn't realize the Lemur was nocturnal, that "Spawn" and "Nancy" and just the Black Dwarves in general got into this story. And the line "no matter how soft the stone it still hurts to bang your head on it. - the voice of experience?-" made me crack up laughing!
