The General G of K
2009-05-12 . chapter 1
Before even seeing the disclaimer, I looked at the song lyrics, and thought, you know, this sounds like Green River, and sure enough...

Needless to say, I'm a huge CCR fan, and already, I knew I was going to love this. And I did.

I love pieces like this that have a realistic premise and fill in a plothole we never saw in the series, but were asked to recognize as having happened. If that makes any sense at all, lol.

I thought all the people were in character, even Kaylee's dad whom we've never met. The relationship between he and Kaylee seemed naturally father/daughter-esque, and I loved how he hid all his tears until the end.

Overall, really well written piece!

Wow that was the most amazing story I've ever read. It was like I could hear Kaylee's voice it was so well characterized. Love the story!

I very much enjoyed reading about Kaylee joining the crew. I like your assumption that it was only Mal, Zoe and Wash onboard when they recruited her. I assume that's the case, but it's nice to see it in writing. Makes it more 'real'. Bravo.

Cute and darlin story. You capture the right speech patterns and energy for Kaylee and Mal, something not everyone can do. Real sweet little bit of writing and we see young-woman Kaylee making her first contact with the ship she loves and the crew she uplifts.

That scene could really have happened in the series, the retranscription of Kaylee's brogue is stunning ! I liked it a lot^^
