Aw, this is just so cute!! Your little Legolas is adorable and sprightly and sweet without being cloying--because he really is ALL boy and ALL wood-elf. I get the distinct impression that somewhere in the Halls of Mandos, Oropher is grinning like anything and capering as he points--for surely a grandfather can enjoy watching his son suffer as his own Elfling brings home strange creatures and does strange things... LOL! Payback's a **, Thranduil... you're just getting your desserts because of that stunt in your own childhood! :)
