I have a thing for alternate universe and slightly alternate universe when it comes to wresting fic, and this is right up my alley. Your characterization is spot on, there are those small observational details from Cena really make him jump off the page as a human being. This looks like a helluva fun read, and I look forward to the rest of it. Keep it up! |

| Wandering Critic 2008-05-10 ch 1, | abuseAn excellent story so far! And I say that as someone who despises pro wrestling and despises pro wrestling fanfic ten times over. I only came to look at it because of the link in your sig but I stayed for the story. Compared to 99.9% of the wrestling fanfic I've seen, this is a gem. In a fandom dominated by godawful Mary Sues, Kerwood is a refreshing change. I love it: a pro wrestler who's scared of crowds. He's the perfect viewpoint character, especially for leading a newbie like me into the story. His inner voice is excellent. Hm, an aspect of the story that can be improved: Well, I spotted a few typos. Smack your beta reader for not catching those. Also, the POV shift between Kerwood and John Cena was a bit confusing. Other than that, I suspect I'd probably need to know more about wrestling to make any suggestions. There really aren't any major flaws at all, just little things like the typos. I'm really looking forward to the next part, despite my well-known dislike of slash! |
