The Silent Orion 2009-05-15 . chapter 9Link hides everything up his hat? That's an interesting theory. Funny, though. This is quite good and liberally hilarious. As a suggestion, I have this: do something with music-either a stereo, a CD player, something like that. However cliche, it'd still be funny |
Ganheim 2009-03-27 . chapter 9pulled Link’s had from his head.
[hat]
“I should warn you,” Link said, trying to be helpful. “If you don’t want it to go off, you shouldn’t pull out the…”
The soldier pulled out a bomb, jumping in surprise as the fuse lit itself.
[That’s certainly better than the idea I’ve seen in a few fanfics where Link uses a small-scale burst of Din’s Fire to light his explosives.]
Would you rather I threw them into that pit?”
[I’d half expect him to do so anyway.]
This chapter seemed quite a bit shorter than the others, and while it effectively got the cast from the convention into the city, there’s quite a bit to go from there. |
Veyrael Dominiri 2009-03-23 . chapter 9So I'm not the only one who thinks that's where he stores his equipment. XD
Overall, you have a wonderful story, but since you seem like you're running out of ideas with the cosplay jokes, you might consider other areas (Ganondorf going insane in a bar comes to my mind here.)
One question, though- why aren't Link and Zelda more hostile to Ganondorf? I think you're trying to do the same thing here that I had seen you pull in "Idiots from the Fifth Dimension", but that aspect of their relationship does have me curious. Are they setting aside their differences in order to find a way home? Or is there something more to this?
I did notice that typo myself. I'm fairly certain you're busy, but you might want to take a look at that. I don't recall Link having "hads".
*faves* |
Davin Sunrider 2009-03-23 . chapter 9Ganondorf; unsubtle as always. Not exactly used to 'fitting in', is he?
As usual, hilarious chapter, despite its shortness. Ganondorf just grabbing that guy to ask for directions made me laugh, as did Link's trouble with the bomb-sniffing dog. I could just picture that poor cop's face as he just keeps pulling stuff out of the hat.
And, unfortunately for our three intrepid otherworlders, they really can't know that being on horse-back is just going to make them *more* conspicuous.
Looking forward to the next chapter! |
Kiarra-Chan 2009-03-22 . chapter 9An update! Yay! Um... You ment to say "Hat" right here right?
"The dog, a black Lab, pulled Link’s 'had' from his head. “No! Bad dog!” Link snatched it back." |
Kiarra-Chan 2009-03-08 . chapter 8Whoa. I haven't seen this story in forever! I know it's VERY late, but could you update soon? |
Trip And Fall 2009-01-07 . chapter 8Great job with this story!
The last three or so chapters weren't as good, though..
I can see how this story headed to a dead-end. D: But thats just me.
The rest of the chapters were written excellently, and now I'm wondering...have you been to an anime convention before? :D
My friend went once, and dressed REALLY OOCly as Link, just for fun. He dyed his hair pink, and wore a black tunic he made..good lord, it was hilarious. ANYWAYS, I think if you were to continue this story, you'd have to rewrite the last few chapters.
I'm sure you know what I mean, anyways.
Overall, a pretty good story. |
HAL-9001 2008-11-11 . chapter 8Most excellent. I actually had a similar idea where Samus gets stuck in the 'real world' and finds her way to a game convention, etc.
I like your portrayals of the characters. |
Cloudrunner Sparty 2008-09-28 . chapter 8Not finished with the story yet? Oh well, but it's shaping up pretty nicely. You've got a bit of tension going on in these latest chapters, and Andy is as annoying as ever, so things are looking good.
You mentioned something to me awhile back along the lines that the Verizon building is the ugliest thing to grace New York that you've seen. You been to New York a lot, or do you live there? Just asking cause you seem to know an awful lot about the place, including the smell of the Subway.
I'm surprised the cops haven't started shooting yet. I suppose that's more realistic that they haven't, the only thing being shot so far is a taser at Ganondorf's arm. At any rate, things seem to be escalating a bit...perhaps there will be a gunfight at some point?
There wasn't much witty dialogue exchange in this chapter between Link and Ganondorf. Maybe it wasn't necessary with all the stuff going on around them, but I like the way they speak to each other in these stories, with Zelda kind of acting as a mediator between them.
I hope you're working some more on this story. I'm interested to see where else you take things. Good luck with the rest.

Cloudrunner Sparty 2008-09-28 . chapter 7Hm...Shigeru actually knowing what the inter-dimensional transporter is is kind of interesting. Says he's got his own, eh? Nice spin on this fic here. I'm surprised that Mr. Miyamoto isn't more distressed at his situation. In some ways, he's kind of a fanboy himself, isn't he, wanting to meet Link and Zelda and all that?
Ah, well now they have to deal with the annoying Andy once more. Funny thing is that I actually have a friend named Andy that's a lot like the one in this story. Perhaps it's not funny, but a bit scary, for that matter.

Cloudrunner Sparty 2008-09-28 . chapter 6Ah, and so the madness commences. Ganondorf sure has a knack of making things into a mess, doesn't he? If only he had the diplomatic Zelda with him, things could have gone a bit better. Link's right: all he needs to do is find where the madness is taking place and there will be Ganondorf.

Cloudrunner Sparty 2008-09-28 . chapter 5Of course! The costume contest...I was wondering when you'd get around to it. Ganondorf shoving the kid on stage was pretty funny, and the attitude that these cosplayers take, that looks aren't what they should be judged on, was pretty laughable too.
However, when Link asked if anyone wanted to spar, I'm surprised no geek actually stepped forward to try his luck. If anything, they would have thought he meant to play around. Perhaps his real sword is what scared them a bit?
Well, now you've thrown Shiggy into the mix. Can't wait to see how this turns out.

Cloudrunner Sparty 2008-09-28 . chapter 4I guess I'm not surprised that fanart of that sort exists out there, but I couldn't help feeling a level of shock from reading what I did. Though when you brought in the Link x Ganondorf pic to show the ol' Gerudo, his reaction was priceless. Link's reaction was fun too, but from the look of things it seems that you enjoy riling up Ganondorf the most. Nice job with that, by the way.
I had to think about the purple chu jelly comment for a moment, then it dawned on me. Heh, I can actually see Link doing that...maybe because I did that once in Wind Waker/Twilight Princess. Anyway, this story is tons of fun. I shall read on.

Cloudrunner Sparty 2008-09-28 . chapter 3What? They didn't find the pizza appetizing? How discouraging. At least we can rest easy knowing that the three eat only the healthy stuff.
Ganondorf playing SSBB left a funny image in my mind. I'm also surprised he got better at video games than Link did.
I wonder...do all the girls really tackle the cosplayers they think are the best/cutest? Well, from the looks of things, even though you thought you were going to run out of ideas, you didn't. Good, because now I can read on. :)

Cloudrunner Sparty 2008-09-28 . chapter 2I was thoroughly impressed with that scene on the stage. I had a feeling Link and Ganondorf were going to have a sword fight, and I had a good laugh when the audience started poking at Link's performance, telling him that he wasn't supposed to be talking.
I'm really enjoying this so far. It's a good bit of light humor to start my day. Not bad at all.
