| Coreen Fennel 2008-06-06 ch 1, | abuseI liked it, the only part I don't get is the part about the hard boiled eggs. |
| The Madman From Manhattan 2008-05-29 ch 1, | abuseWell, I haven't read this yet but I have to say... LONG LIVE THE MARX BROTHERS! (And A Night At The Opera is one of my favorite Marx Bros movies) |
| purple kimono 2008-05-01 ch 1, | abuseokay, okay that is really really funny! i don't get it either ('cuz i never watched that movie before) but it's funny because antonella is really confused and the monarchs are just laughing their heads off. :D |
| Tierney Beckett 2008-04-03 ch 1, | abuseOh, this was brilliant. I'm so glad I stumbled across this. Well done! The only thing missing was the court musicians playing 'Take Me Out to the Ballgame'. *giggles and adds to Favorites list* |
| Miniver 2008-03-03 ch 1, | abuseI lost the review I was writing...or it went out and this is a duplicate. (I pressed a button and it vanished.) Either way, I had a delightful time reading this. Though I'm not a Marx Brothers expert, I enjoyed the drift of this lighthearted tale. You did happen to include one of the jokes I know and love, "there's no Sanity Clause." And of course in Narnia there is a Sanity Clause, which makes it even funnier. I loved Antonella and Mr. Tumnus. I suppose you could eventually go back and flesh out the characters of the monarchs a bit more, but it's plenty appealing as it is right now. |
| KCS 2008-03-03 ch 1, | abuseROTFL - the poor puzzled Narnians, not understanding 'moo-v' humor! HEHEHEHE! That was rich - do another, will you? |
| Princess Lucy 2008-03-03 ch 1, | abuseI loved this so funny keep up the good work |
| ReviewsGalore 2008-03-03 ch 1, | abuseStory: 7/10. It is not a bad idea, though I am (as will many readers, I suspect) suffering from the same problem as the Narnians -- I don't know anything about the Marx Brothers. And you can't get half this fic if you don't. Characters: 6.5/10. I don't get a whole lot of any of the characters' personalities from this fic, though most of them aren't OOC. Having Peter as the instigator of the humor seems like an odd choice to me. Creativity: 8.25/10. It is a nice, original idea. Writing: 6.5/10. There aren't obvious mistakes, but some of the sentences read very awkwardly. You repeat yourself and the word order is sometimes off. Believability: 7.25/10. They sort of sound like a bunch of modern high school kids sitting around and laughing about a movie that they saw which I am not sure that I buy for these characters, but the idea is pretty believable. Overall: 7/10. The idea is certainly unique and you pull it off decently, though I think that you could show a little more attention to character. Professionalism: B. Considering that you have to be familiar with the Marx Brothers to get this, you might want to put that somewhere in your summary or notes, but everything generally seems in order. |
| MyBlueOblivion 2008-03-03 ch 1, | abuseAnd now I'm stuck with the wonderful image of Edmund doing an impression of Groucho... Really nice idea, this. It's nice to see the four having a good time for a change. I realy liked how you portrayed the Narnian's confusion at the whole affair; I have to admit, I find the Marx Brothers a little confusing myself, and I live in Spare Oom! Good stuff. ~MyBlueOblivion~ |
