I believe I understand where Ivy is coming from. I bet that she wouldn't have bothered to go if Remus hadn't of asked her. I also believe that she kept her coat on as a way to shield herself away from the group - kind of a barrier to hide her feelings of discomfort. There is also two ways to take the Sirius quoting Shakespeare scene - one that he noticed her and is trying to make her feel more comfortable or she just happened to be the girl sitting next to him that he is using to 'ham up' his monologue. If Lily or Marlene happened to being sitting next to Sirius, he would have 'hammed up' to them.

I don't really see Sirius being interested in her...yet. I think that something big would have to happen to her in order to draw his attention toward her, being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and that's how Sirius actually takes a real look at her. To me, it seems that if anything, he wouldn't know her name, just that she is one of Lily's friends/roommates. Sirius has a very strong, over-baring, over-confident personality - he wouldn't have noticed Ivy. Also, if Ivy feels that she is invisible, then perhaps she has created some kind of invisible field around her - kind of like a wallflower shield.

P.S. - did Ivy ever describe herself yet? I'll have to re-read to see.
