Angel-In-Black
2009-11-17 . chapter 3
Hello, Dearest Carmine, and I shall assume also Lucia. Have I mentioned lately that I love you both? Because I do. I love you all to pieces. The things the two of you manage to unfurl on these humble browser pages are inspiringly and hauntingly beautiful and I can only hope that the two of you return to us soon.

It's really too bad you let this go. It was turning out to be quite awesome. Had buckets of potential. Just a waste that you let it go.

Firstly, this is fabulous. This twist on Rogue's powers--vampires!--are absolutely perfect, especially in beautiful, dark New Orleans. And I'm excited to see more from this part of your writer's side; as a reader of Lucia DeMedici, I think of A.N. Roquelaure when I think of you, although I'll admit, I like your writing style more.

The Pomegranate tree is amazing, allusions the Greeks' mythology are a constant joy. Seeing the hem of Remy's coat is great, and infusing the both of our characters with magic and voodoo is both beautiful in terms of theme and setting.

All in all, 'tis amazing. An update is awaited with bated breath.

As a fair weather fan of Gothic novels, I find this truly enjoyable. And you've already used three notable authors of Southern Gothic in particular (I find the pun amusing) at the beginning. You've painted such a beautiful picture of 1822 New Orleans. I wish to visit it as much as the current city.

I'm fairly certain I caught the cause to Rogue's 'illness', but I'm going to remain mute because I'd rather not spoil it (or be proven wrong quite yet). Although if it turns out to be correct I have a few predictions to where the saga is heading. Either way, all the little hints have really drawn me into the story, especially the teasing hints of the 'thief'.

I regret not finding the time to read the first two chapters when they were posted, although I doubt I could deal with the suspense of waiting for another chapter. So perhaps the next might come a little sooner than I'd hope. It's marvelous so far, I cannot wait to see the next scene for this act.

Interesting chapter! I really like that you've seen or research most of your references. And the irony of Anna's possible disease! New Orleans does seem like the perfect place for the vampyre, doesn't it?

Another fantastic chapter! Wow! I can't wait for Anna and "the thief" to meet.

I'm really impressed by the amount of research you've done for this story. You've certainly got me on the edge of my seat. I hope there will be another chapter soon!

Beautiful, yet again!
I always get such a chilling vibe from reading this, but its so delightful I always want to read more!
I'm increasingly interested to see how Remy (I presume he's the thief) and Anna meet. It's sure to be delicious!

I love the Pomegranate Tree allusion. I am also, as always, thoroughly impressed with the research that has been put into this. And even thought I'm not 100% sure what's happening in this chapter, but it is one of my favorite.

gah! how is it possible that, now that i'm finally done with my undergrad (yay!) and have apparently nothing but free time on my hands, it takes me days to find time to review? oi, the days just don't have enough hours in them.

anyhoo, i don't have to tell you how fabulous this was, do i? because your chapters always are. but you know what surprised me? cody! and he probably shouldn't have, but the fact that he did made me laugh - because really, in anticipation of a certain cajun, who'd even spare a thought to a mild-mannered little southern boy like him? at least, that's the logic i'm operating under. ;)

i'm really WAY too eager to see some more of remy, and from the looks of things, i'm not the only one. the description from rogue's point of view, when she realized she was being watched, was just brilliant. now, will he move beyond simply watching and skulking? i can't wait to find out... more, MORE! :D
