Ahh, this drabble makes me homesick. 19 years of being an Angelino and I've still yet to memorize half the road system. It's huge, it's messy, and I'm damn well proud of being part of it.

Unfortunately, it's subways I've got to memorize for the next four years. (I get to switch back to freeway mode for all my breaks though. ^^)

A nice sweet and short story. I just moved myself to LA about four months ago so I get the great pleasure of learning all that stuff. I'm originally from New England and I had two highways, or what would be a freeway out here to know. Thank god I have a keen sense of directions or I would be forever lost. @__@

I totally get what they're talking about in this fic. I hope you don't mind, but I'm gonna pull a Bluestreak here, briefly. We have something similar on a smaller scale here in Vegas. The US-93 and US-95 merge between Henderson and Boulder City (I'm not sure which one goes thru BC, but that's the one that goes over Hoover Dam) and that meets up with the I-15 in Downtown Las Vegas. At that point, the US-93 jumps off the US-95 (which at that point continues on to Reno) and follows the I-15 until after the Speedway. Then US-93 splits and goes north thru Nevada, while the I-15 goes to Utah. At the point where the three freeways meet, we call it The Spaghetti Bowl.

hey cool! I'm guessing you're another SoCal fan! I really liked this story, too. It's a nice way to show the differences between the teens and the 'bots.

I also love how some of the freeways in so cal say "East" and "West" but run diagonally and almost north and south.
Even the coast isn't straight vertical, which can also screw you up if you're trying to use cardinal directions. Its a good thing they put the city names in it too, so you know where you're headed.

Ugh... I LIVE in La, and this still confuses me sometimes @_@

lol, ya I get were it's a culture shock. It took me years to be able to understand directions around SoCal after I moved here. Cute fic, I liked it alot. :D
