Wow. Nice twist at the end. I tried to read this as slow as possible, since you said it would only take a few minutes. So I had time to wonder a bit about what could possibly happen and how subtle it would be. I never imagined him keeping her hair.

Love the quicksand references. The story does have a sinking feel to it. But not like necessarily falling in love. Just falling, getting out of your comfort zone for snake and getting out of control like Darcy. And he still hasn't given up on her and is starting to realize he has an attraction to her. Sweet.

Whoa. This was written so well. I liked it. Very, very well written.
