I liked a lot of the lead-up, while Kakashi was alone, the finger0grabbing and the cluelessness and all, but Kakashi's tantrum didn't match with the way he processes information, and he knows too much about fuuinjutsu to make the mistake and need to be talked down like that. Frankly I think he would find having it reformulated as a bodyguarding mission reassuring, since it meant that at least part of this assignment was stuff he knew how to do. Although I would expect some insultedness at Hiruzen's implication that every other shinobi left alive is more important to Konoha's strength than a certain genius jonin.

:( Your inferences about Kushina back before we knew anything about her also suck. Why would you wish that on Naruto? Worse than what they made Gaara believe. Ssss. Most people assumed she died. And why does Naruto still not have a name?
