You wrote this really well. I could completely see this happening after the Matsuri-kidnapping arc. I really liked their interaction, Shukaku's vague interst in Matsuri, and Gaara's reaction to his new student and friend!

I liked this read. It was sweet. Being a fan of romance and drama (haha),this fic hit a soft spot. Before romance comes friendship, I absolutely think that this is a great preview to a deeper love that is yet to come.
