Vixen in Violet 2008-11-01 . chapter 1Loved this so much! I hope you can write more. ;) |
 bookworm2009 2008-04-05 . chapter 1i like it...i've always pictured George with Joe...do you know when you're putting out chapter 1? |
Rosa Cotton 2008-03-22 . chapter 1lightwarai! I have missed your writing so much. I was stunned, very pleasantly stunned, when I discovered this little gem of a story by YOU!
This was amazing. I'd never thought of Joe/George before, but you made the possibility so believable. Joe and George were totally in character, while you added some depth to them. They do have quite a bit in common.
"To her, Joe Hardy had been just another macho jock who could charm the paint off the walls, and knew it."
LOL! Great imagery there! So true. :P
"She wasn’t boy-crazy like her cousin was. And she rarely dated anyone. She was quite picky, in fact. She had a list of qualities and expectations she desired in a relationship, and wouldn’t settle for less. And Joe actually met many of those…"
Very good taste, George! Now I want to see theses two on a date.
Cute story! Thank you so much for sharing this with us. Wonderful job, as always! |
Roswalyn 2008-03-18 . chapter 1I really, really enjoyed this! I've always thought that the George/Joe pairing had a lot of unexplored potential, for the very reasons that you portrayed so well in this story. While canon always emphasized the similarities between Joe and Bess, I think you did a great job of pointing out that Joe and George actually share a lot of similarities as well. Both have great senses of humor, both are athletic, and Joe does have a serious side that compliments George's very well. And really, what girl could be immune to that Hardy charm? :)
Wonderful job, as always!! |
bhar 2008-03-17 . chapter 1Good story and good writing. sply loved that last typical Joe foot in the mouth comment abt the winner paying for the loser's shake. Nice and snappy scene. |
Red Hardy 2008-03-17 . chapter 1"To her, Joe Hardy had been just another macho jock who could charm the paint off the walls, and knew it. "
-ROTFL! I've never heard him described quite like that but yes, that's my boy!! :D
"She wasn’t boy-crazy like her cousin was. And she rarely dated anyone. She was quite picky, in fact. She had a list of qualities and expectations she desired in a relationship, and wouldn’t settle for less. And Joe actually met many of those…"
-Oh, I never really thought of Joe and George together but yeah, I can see that!! And George - you have EXCELLENT taste!! :p
Cute story!! Thanks for sharing! :) |
katie janeway 2008-03-17 . chapter 1Aw! I like it! George/Joe isn't too much of a leap, really, and it's nice to see it handled well. :D |
 LazyPanther 2008-03-17 . chapter 1I LOVE YOU!
*ahem*
Aw, thank you so much!! You actually think it's possible that I wouldn't like something you wrote? *scoffs* ;)
This was absolutely perfect! No, it's not the angst and drama I had originally challenged, but that's OK because this is better! I like that you kept it light. It definitely keeps them more in-character. As I was reading, I could picture this exchange between them so easily. You're portrayal of Joe is right on the money (and one of my favorites out of all fanfic authors), and I really like your George as well. I think she was very IC, but you also gave her a little more depth than we are used to seeing in the books. She is a girl, and Joe is an good-looking guy, and they do have a lot in common, so it's only logical that she feels some attraction to the "Hardy charm". I could easily see this happening. It's just subtle enough that it could actually fit into the SM series without really changing the dynamics between the characters. Like I said, perfect!
I'm at home sick today, so I was just going to check my email really quickly and then go vegetate in front of the TV. But when I saw this in my inbox, I was suddenly wide awake and I just had to read it RIGHT NOW. So thanks for brightening my day.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!! :) |
