Again, your style of writing is great!

Just one thing I found with this chapter, though: there was a bit too much explanation all in one go. While I can understand Sargasso wanting to explain the situation to Rotor, it did become a little wearying reading so much backstory in one go. Perhaps it could have been fragmented a little, spread over other chapters?

Sargasso himself is every inch the Bond villain, I think. He has very much that kind of bearing. I like him; or more to the point, he worries me. He's a clever one...

Aw-w-w-w-w, cute epilogue! Rotor needs to hang out with the guys more.^^ And for some reason I'm really intrigued by Bark and Bean now, I think these two just got a role in my Tails/Yugioh crossover, my foster home for neglected characters. XD Would love to see them star in another one of your fics!^^

...btw, does that mean it's time for the pirate epic now? *shining eyes* Rote's mom coming with him was very funny - giant females are always instant win, walruses are even better. Sonic teasing Rotor about the whole pirate gig is very cute and in character - loved it.^^

Minor point: Antoine's accent - You have him referring as 'vous' to his friends, but that's (sort of) the equivalent of addressing someone as Mr./Mrs. When talking to friends and children, you use 'tu' or 'toi'. I had to study that horrible language for four years...but then again, I can use it now when Antoine gets his part in my 'Once Upon A Time' insanity fic.^^

Apart from that, though, I thought it was a very skilled way of ending this thing by referring to the very beginning again.

Heh, way to go, rotor! I think Sonic or Sally would have hesitated before shocking their own friends...(and Shadow would have been grinning). Interesting!

(And mind you, when he went into his 'all things bow before SARGASSO!' routine, I nearly thought of metal sonic and his 'all things kneel before my ELF SHOES!' quote...XD

Nice fight, and I don't think I'd like to be in Sargasso's skin (shell) right now...and I have a feeling Tusker's horde will be a whole lot more empty after rotor paid his little bills...
Now on to the final chapter! (I wish *I* could finish any of my fics anytime soon...)

I do wonder where you got their personalities from, tho - I had also imagined Bean to be *slightly* beyond the event horizon of the insanity star, but I knew next to nothing about bark...except the fact that my friend regularily uses him to beat the stuffing out of me in sonic fighters. I never knew they were bounty hunters, nor that Bark was so interested in money. Interesting! They do seem to be nicer guys than my favourite weasel, at least. ;)

Hmm, so Rotor found an old vessel of Robotnik. Cool! Wonder how much he can do if Sargasso is now able to command water as he pleases, tho...looking forward to the next chapter!^^

heh, poor Rotor! Though I AM wondering why he didn't try to use the stone himself, maybe...I dunno, let the water propel him forward? Or make an air funnel like Sargasso does for the other walruses?

Last time you dragged me kicking and screaming out of my Sonic/Shadow comfort zone to root for Tails, now it's Rotor...@.@

Anyway, interesting. XD It's a shame that there's nearly no reviews, though if I had to lay a finger on the reason, I'd say it's because of the HUGE explanatory opening section. Whenever I start a tale where I have to lay the history/groundwork down beforehand, I usually try to alternate between single paragraphs with information while at the same time some snappy dialogue and/or action is going on, then background info again, and so on...like in the chapie dealing with Rouge in 'Five things...', y'know?

Ahem. Anyway. Back to the story.^^

It's certainly thrilling, and the idea of an underwater setting is intriguing (even though it means sonic can't star before he isn't turned into a mermaid by merlin or something XD) as it certainly hasn't been done before. Rotor continues to be nicely characterized, especially when he compares himself to other freedom fighters and how they might have acted.
Sargasso is...hard to define yet. A lobster as a species is a cool idea, to say the least and small details about how he moves give me a good mental pic of him. As for his character - well, there's not much yet, as most of the two chappies was background history, but so far he seems more even-tempered than robotnik, while just as greedy and maybe not as intelligent, but highly educated. Dangerous, probably, but so far I'd gauge Ixis Naugus, Robotnik himself, or even an enraged Shadow, as the greater threat. At least from Sargasso you could hide in a desert or somewhere...@.@

Minor detail: loved 'ecco the dolphin'. XD

Is this so far the only pirate tale you've planned or is that thing with zachary's possessed hat and all the other freedom fighters yet coming?

sorry i fogot to review the last chapter, but i have to say this story is great. I love seeing other charaters beside sonic have the big roles in fics like this. I truly hope you write more of this story.
