Oh man, how does this work? Harry and the Founders? Anyway, the situation you've painted here is really cool. And the part about them not really knowing each other, only images that they had built up - it rings really true to me, for some reason. It seems like all human relationships must have an element of this, even if the people in them would like to pretend that perfect knowledge was actually possible.

Oh, and mashed together words - I saw one, but wasn't going to mention it until you said, so...when she's painting him, and says "I cannot believe you have managed it for so long. Does it not hurt?" the 'doesit' is mushed together. Hopefully you haven't heard this one from someone else already...
