abuseNote to Marie-Louisa- actually, Battling Bard has it right. All the children of Elrond were allowed to make their choice between Elf and Human, but not his grandchildren. This means that Arwen's children are automatically counted as human- half-Elf mother who chose to be human, and full human father, equals human children. Yes, they will have some Elven blood, but not enough to allow them to choose which race they belong to. It doesn't work that way.

Please don't tell other people they're wrong when they're not.

A review of this story: I'm sorry, but this just screams "Mary Sue". Beautiful, blonde Elf- blonde Elves were extremely rare in Middle-Earth. They came from the smallest of the three original races, the Vanyar, who all chose to live in Valinor. Some of their descendants who were part-Vanyar came back to Middle-earth, so yes, there would have been a few, but as in one out of a few thousand.

In addition, Minas Tirith was a city of humans. Aragorn and Arwen would not have had Elves looking after their children. Remember, the races of Middle-earth tended not to trust each other that much by this time, except for a few individuals. Even if there had been Elves working for the King, they would never have been "servant girls" or anything of the sort.

I also have to ask about Gimli's whereabouts. He and Legolas are almost inseparable by now, so there should be an explanation for his absence.

On the other hand, you obviously know about the typical speech patterns of the characters (always a good thing in my book, I get tired of seeing them all talking in modern slang), and I also like the basic setting of a child's birthday, instead of the boringly overdone Tenth Walker. That actually could be quite appealing. I'd like to know more about Eldarion and his oldest sister, and perhaps how they view things around them at the moment.

This story has some serious potential, if you just concentrate more on the character interactions, rather than yet another Legomance. I wouldn't even say you should remove your original character, just alter her a bit. As a human, I can see her being perfectly in role as caretaker of the children, and probably a rather important figure in their eyes.

abusewell,

note to Battling Bard- sweetie yourself. All of the descendants of Elrond get to make a descision between Elf and Mortality. i dont remember what chapter exactly, but it states that all descendent of Elronf Half Elven get to make their choice. Arwen and her brothers had to chose and their children too. Get your facts straight sweetie.

abuseSweetie, the daughter of Arwen and Aragorn IS NOT an elf-maiden. She won't be aloud into Valinor, and won't have pointed ears. Arwen is not a full blooded elf (and chose to be counted among the second-born), and Aragorn is full blooded human. Thus, their children are counted as humans.
