Your detail about the crocheting began this story perfectly, and you completed the circle in the end. Your story construction mimicked the circular narrative to the "full" story, and I really appreciated that. You also chose a great way to have them deal with their problems in a way that men seem to do - not talking about the issue and using guns (or other manly pursuits) to begin to heal their friendship.

Also - I don't know anything about the waning interest, since I just found you thanks to a recommendation on crack_van, but I'm finding that each story builds upon the one before.

Once again you have given me some enjoyable moments. I hope you decide to continue this. I'm sure the last time Kyle and John see each other before Klye gets sent back in time would be so touching and with the way you have written these, I have no doubt I'll be in tears.

This story-actually, this whole series is amazing! I always wished the Terminator movies had done a little more with the John/Reese relationship. It's such a wonderfully complicated thing, it merits attention like it's given in your stories. Please, please do more stories!

Great story, Gatekeeper! Sorry I didn't get to it sooner, but my computer was down for a while and I've been completely swamped, between school work and 2 or 3 jobs. Anyway, my earlier comments still apply-tight organization, great characterizations, and fabulous use of internal dialogue. All in all, a fantastic entry to the series.

Damn, GK, but you have an excellent way with this story. The mixed emotions of both characters, and with John knowing what "has to be", are woven into the mythology of the movies in a most excellent manner. Please don't take a lack of reviews as a swan song for this series, I've been experiancing the same thing since the site finally came back up reliably, and I really hope that you do consider continuing with this.
