terri 2/19/11 . chapter 1 My dear Emma, may I steal (with attribution) your vision of what Severus sees in Erised for another fic?
I'm writing a Snape-rescues-Harry fic, and I want to give Sev's original vision, and then a changed one. And I want the original to be yours; I've read a number of Snape-looking-at-Erised fics, several of them good, and yours seems the most logical.
Here's my recapitulation of the original in my own fic:
The green had been so vibrant, Severus could almost smell the sun-warmed grass. The rose she lay upon the stone had been dazzlingly white. Each incised letter had been crisp, shadowless—the name, the dates, and the words that she had chosen for him: “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
Acceptable, oui ou non? |
Victoire Lupin 8/24/08 . chapter 1This is a beautiful, beautiful fanfic. I've got goosebumps. The premise, the inscription on the gravestone, everything had this quiet, heartborken perfection...
Thank you. You are an incredible writer. |
Rose of the West 8/15/08 . chapter 1Lovely story. I agree, this is probably the sort of thing that he would wish to see. |
msllamalover 6/14/08 . chapter 1Beautiful, very, very real.
Some people have Severus looking into the mirror, and simply seeing Lily, or himself with Lily, but I dont think they're that realistic, because he was so much deeper than that. I think you brought out his character perfectly in this.
Oh, and it's wonderfully written, too! |
zafaran 5/18/08 . chapter 1Well done. The image of Severus's love like a monstrance is a very evocative image that I think fits wonderfully. Since I've seen a monstrance in use in the chapel of a hospital formerly run by the Sisters of Mercy, I had a lovely image to match it to. I hope your schedule and muse will allow you to write and post more chapters n more stories sometime soon. Keep up the good work. Zafaran {mailto:} zafaran {at} fastmail {dot} fm |
 Luckybug76 4/13/08 . chapter 1Wow, that was amazing...faved! |
Kako 3/28/08 . chapter 1This is a great one-shot. You write very well in English, I would never have known that you were French if you hadn't outright said it. This perfectly portrays Snape's emotions towards Lily and his guilt for what happened to her, and what he saw in the Mirror of Erised was perfectly suited to his character, with the tomb.
Again, great little fanfic. Keep up the great work!

territ 3/27/08 . chapter 1 I wish I'd written this; I hadn't had the foresight to predict it, but yes, this is exactly what Severus would have seen. You break my heart. This is why mortals shouldn't see the Mirror. Not Lily, alive later, not her alone, but the tomb: the one choice he was never offered. Greater love hath no man... This works so perfectly with my own fic, you realize! Not my will, but thine...
Write me on your translation of my own, please, as I seem not be be able to comment. Except that from what I could read, it worked: except that I never expected to be regarded as a Kant: better read in translation? My little fic was surely not a critique of Pure Reason, if a critique of Reason at all! |
TheNightimeSky 3/22/08 . chapter 1You did a beautiful job on this. I loved how you described Lily.
And you're right. He (the poet in the beginning) is amazing. |
Tsuki No Shuurai 3/22/08 . chapter 1Very good ;) I liked the vehemence toward potters lol. |
