Blown away...they, neither one, have not the power to deny what is in them. The other body, same soul, how the water droplets jump together when they near one another. You named it, her helplessness, that she cannot turn away; Jack's powerlessness to stop his patient assault. I have so felt the way she does, dragged kicking and screaming to that which she so desires. Do you study how to be so economical, so laser in your descriptions at the same time lush, bountiful in the feelings exposed? Oh my word, the feeling I have from you is that of observing one tiny unique scrap of a stamp that is worth millions--your stories shimmer for me, heat on the horizon!

Very, very nice.

You're right - their relationship is very difficult to name - and I like the way you've portrayed it here. Very accurately, very real.

I enjoyed this very much. :) Keep writing Sparrabeth!

Cheers,
Zay

Absolutely loved it! I loved the phrase "When you name something, you give it power." SO absolutely true! Excellent!

You hit the nail in the head, darling. He is, as she is a part of him. They're the same. :)

And, as I have a habit to associate fics I read with songs, this line: "Near dusk sometimes he will venture to her side and sit down and tell her stories. She grants him a song, even a poem she read in an old book." immediately reminded me of "Soldier of Fortune" by Deep Purple: "I have often told you stories about the way I lived the live of a drifter..." Such a Jack song, really.

This was amazing! It was so poetically done, the words seeming to come so easily and beautifully. Descriptions were marvelous, and I loved how you organized Elizabeth's thoughts - it was most certainly in-character.

Wonderful - please write something else soon. :3

This is gorgeous in the simplicity. I love the need she has to not name what it is between them. Thanks for sharing!

You understand the relationship between Elizabeth and Jack perfectly -- it can't be understood.

And yet it can; it is exactly what you said it was -- "It is every given word and none at all. Nothing, something."

I loved it. You wrote it beautifully, wonderfully, and so tastefully.
