| May 2008-07-20 ch 12, anon. | abuseGreat fic, I really enjoyed reading it. You're keeping the characters from OOCness, whilst being imaginative at the same time. |
| BarbaraB 2008-07-18 ch 12, anon. | abuseOh, damn you for ending it there! I can't stand Aurora. She may be mentally ill, but sheesh. She's needy as hell. Since Sam is so clingy they should get together. That way she'd always have someone around, and Sam could cling without the other person getting claustrophobic. AND, he wouldn't have to talk about his feelings because Aurora would be blathering on! That sounds like a match made in heaven. I like Storm & Wolverine's relationship, but I'd like to see it shaken up a bit in some kind of way. I wonder if Moira and Mags are aboard some kind of FOH ship. The X-Men might have to use what little fuel they have to intercept it and then take whatever fuel the ** On Heroin (heh) have. If their mission was successful they could make a trip to Earth. Maybe run into someone who goes by the name Moonstar. :D I like her. I'm a little worried about Alpha Flight...well, actually just Northstar. Maybe they could all die in a fiery wreck and Northstar could somehow survive. jk. One of the things that I really love about your story telling is the way you shake up the narrative. I like that we had an up close experience with Jubes talking to Storm about Cannonball, and then you gave us the rest of that story through Bobby's gossipping. Great chapter! |
| gambitfan85 2008-07-16 ch 12, | abuseNothing much I can say about this fic. I'm still enjoying every second of it. Kind of shock that Sam and Jubliee broke it off, but it wasn't that mind blowing since the only reason they got together was due to limitations. Anyway, I hope Northstar returns soon for Bobby sake. And always, Go Rogue and Gambit. :D Anyway, can't wait for the next chapter. Keep up the great work. |
| Voli 2008-07-16 ch 12, | abuseLoves it, as usual. Keep up the amazing work! :D Twists and turns at every chapter, oh my! lol! |
| slickboy444 2008-07-16 ch 12, | abuseOh man why did you have to end it there?! Jean goes into labor, Xavier detects Magneto and Moria, and Jubilee breaks up with Sam and that's just the last part of the chapter! Oh man, you really know how to leave a reader wanting more! But I'm sure it'll be worth it. Until then this is my new favorite chapter! It had so much going on I don't know where to begin, but I'll try anyhow. Alpha Flight's departure was pretty dramatic. I was a bit surprised though to hear Warren wanted to go with them. I was even more surprised at his reason. It seems a bit greedy that he just wants to get back to Earth and get laid. But I suppose some people can't stand to be cut off from intimacy for that long and unlike the others, Warren's probably used to having it because of his looks and his wealth. But I don't know how far that'll go back on Earth. If the FOH has had time to grow and there are no X-men in town to stop them, then there's no doubt their stranglehold on the planet has grown. They probably don't even allow mutants in the same zip code as humans anymore, let alone a mutant and a human get intimate. I also remember how in the last fic you mentioned the FOH passing laws that forcibly sterilized all women. I wouldn't be surprised if they took it that far in this fic as well. And then there were the torture camps where mutant women were basically sex slaves. If there's anything like that in this fic it's going to make the fight against the FOH that much harder. But I do hope Warren discovers some ray of hope. Maybe Xavier's money is still safe somewhere and maybe there's are pockets of mutant resistance. It could all come into play when the time comes to face the FOH. That leads me to another question. Is Warren going to find someone on Earth? Like maybe Betsy? You used her in the last story. Will she come in this time? I certainly wouldn't mind seeing some Betsy/Warren stuff. They were very good together in the comics and they had some brief moments in TAS. She also probably has the skills to avoid the FOH. But if not her, what about Emma Frost? She's even more likely to fly under the radar because of her ruthlessness and street smarts. I can see her and Betsy avoiding the fate of other mutants and potentially helping out the X-men down the line. But I guess only time will tell. I hope you bring some of them in because it sounds like they could really spice things up. lol And now that Northstar's gone, I wonder if Bobby will have the drive to rejoin the X-men. Because the way you set their relationship up, Jean-Paul was the most influential in getting him back into the spirit. Without him, he may falter more and have to lean on his friends. But he's not totally weak. You've shown he can be heroic when he has to be. But what's going to happen to him now that he's got to fend for himself? I hope it makes him stronger. He'll have to be for when they have to fight the FOH back on Earth. Interesting way you handled Jubilee and Sam as well. You didn't spend a whole lot of time on their relationship and I wish you had. But it sounds like they weren't totally matched for one another. It was interesting though that you had Jubilee still desire to keep the sex part. And now they're friends with benefits and that opens the door to a whole range of issues. Does this mean Jubilee will start hooking up with other men. That would kind of make her the X-men's sex toy because there's nobody else around them. I hope that doesn't go too far because it would be a little OOC of Jubilee. But I also remember she is older in this story than she is in the show. It isn't inconceivable that she would latch on to the sex. Because there are instances in real life where the sex is good, but the match isn't. And sometimes it's hard to give up the sex, but it sounds like she may have to eventually if she finds someone else. lol Still loving the Logan/Ororo stuff. You've had them be very affectionate for one another thus far. They've definitely grown one each other and they're showing a willingness to open up. I like how you had Ororo confiding in him earlier. Ororo may be strong, but she rarely confides in people. That's been one of her major features in the comics and show. That's a big step for her and I really hope you show Logan doing the same. He's got plenty to open up with from his past to his feelings for Jean to his berserker rage. There's a lot to be done with them and I like how you've done it thus far. But what are the chances they get even more serious at one point? I know it's hard to contemplate something like a wedding given the circumstances, but is that out of the realm of possibility? It sure would be something! I gotta say I didn't expect Magneto and Moria to show up at the end. What could drive them away from Earth and send them there of all places? How did they even find out? And why is Magneto bringing Moria (who is a human) with him? I hope he comes with a plan or something. Because it's been so bleak for mutants lately I'm ready for some hope! I also look forward to seeing what Magneto's been up to this whole time. You didn't have him in the last story. It should be interesting to see what he has to offer here. Maybe he and Xavier can finally put their differences aside and start working together to beat the FOH, but then again that's a big if. lol I'll be content just with some good news or a plan of action. And now Scott and Jean are awaiting their first baby! That's something worthy of celebration! And he's coming in at the right time. There may be changes on the horizon and who knows? Their baby might not have to grow up away from Earth after all. But that's another big if. I can't wait to see how it all unfolds! This story just took a huge leap forward and I eagerly await the next chapter! Please update soon and keep up the excellent work! You rock my friend! Slickboy out. |
| gambitfan85 2008-07-05 ch 11, | abuseAnother long and enjoyable chapter. Keep up the great work. :D |
| Patricia16 2008-07-05 ch 11, | abuseupdate please |
| slickboy444 2008-07-05 ch 11, | abuseAh sex talk! Oh what fun it is to see the X-women discussing a subject near and dear to many of their hearts. I have to say Jubilee is pretty lucky. She has three older women who care about her and want her to be happy, and they just so happen to know a thing or two about sex. lol How many girls like that get that kind of support? And many of the advice seemed pretty valid and realistic. By any chance did you do some research on it because it sounds pretty deep. lol But I think it's only natural Jubilee would want this. They're alone on a planet and being around the same people all the time and leaning on them for support is going to draw them in closer eventually. Jubilee just happened to gravitate towards Sam. While I admit, six days is pretty quick, but given their history and the sheer agony they probably feel holding back I think it's pretty reasonable. Guess that's another scene we have to look forward to. lol And I think you captured Logan's concern well with this. Even with Ororo's coaxing he was still pretty harsh towards Sam. Who would expect anything less? There are just some things you can't change about a person even if you do put them with a beautiful woman like Ororo. lol But at least she can calm him down. I'm sure she'll find ways to distract him too. lol You've given them great chemistry so far and I look forward to seeing how it grows and the complications that are sure to come up. So Heather finally had the baby. That's a nice way to lighten things up. I wish you gave more detail on the birth and how Heather and James reacted. Surely the birth of his child would help him lighten up a little. lol And nice name, Brianna. Now Scott and Jean's kid will have a playmate. How much longer are we going to have to wait for that? I'm sure Jean is eager to have her baby and so is Scott. And even with Alpha Flight leaving, they'll still have Heather there to support them so Jean won't be the only mother of the bunch. I do worry about James though. He is pretty resentful of the X-men, namely Wolverine. But I think he showed a little heart in his desire to go back to Earth to rescue family and friends. Even though he admitted the FOH is too powerful, he wants to go anyways. That's something to admire. I hope you dig deeper into his character in the coming chapters because it sounds like he's going to set the tone for what's to come with the X-men. And I have to say, I'm a little disappointed Bobby didn't decide to go with Alpha Flight. I think that would have been interesting. He seems to be making progress, but I suppose it is a little much for him since he just started training again. Trial by fire might be a good way to bring him and Jean-Paul closer, but I guess absence can also make the heart grow fonder as well. lol And you're really building up this mysterious power source. It must be something if James is so adamant about protecting it. Are we ever going to get some details about what it is? Is it like Dilithum or is it some kind of power like the M'krann crystal? Whatever it is, hopefully it can help the X-men leave the planet and organize a fight against the FOH because they longer they're away the worse things will get back on Earth. I hope Alpha Flight can bring in some good news. Maybe update on what's happening with Magneto and his crew. And what else has been going on with the FOH because I'm sure they won't stop at just seizing power. Criticism wise, I don't have much to complain about here. You did move things along by having Alpha Flight decide to go back. I would have liked to see a little more conflict in some areas. Like maybe Wolverine confronting James about his plans and showing his resentment first hand. And I also think there should be more moments with Xavier since he's been just recovering the whole time. I think it might be worth going into his doubts he probably has about how bad things have gotten. I'm sure even he laments at how bad things have gone lately. Anyways, awesome chapter as always! I enjoyed reading it. Keep up the excellent work! I eagerly await the next chapter. |
| Ebonygriot 2008-06-25 ch 10, | abuseI like the tensions you created between the various Xmen couples in chapters 9 & 10. Jeans frustration over the camera conversation maintained their central characteristics. Storm and Worlverine, whom I love were tricky as they are still in the 'honeymoon phase'. I appreciate that you've taken time to unfold the characters with the survival situation they now face. You've created a very closed situation which has allowed 'fast forwarding' to look at themes that would take longer to come across if they weren't in such a closed community / planet situation. The one thing I'm not sure about is pace of relationship development between Bobby and Northstar. I love them as a couple but it would be nice to see more sharing / relationship exploration to highlight why they are getting into each other. Can't wait to see what situations as well as conversations you offer with future chapters. |
| slickboy444 2008-06-24 ch 10, | abuseWell the situation may be grim and they may be stranded on a paradise planet, but the drama sure doesn't make it any easier. lol This chapter really highlighted the dramatic elements that make the X-men so intriguing to follow. I like how you had some conflicts carry over from the last chapter. The last part with Storm and Logan in the previous chapter led right into the conflict they had here. I just knew it would stem from something involving Jubilee. Logan was also really protective of her and you've done a good job of showing that. Ororo was always the more understanding and trusting type even if she was somewhat reserved so it's only natural they would clash at some point. But that's part of relationships. You deal with the aspects of each others that are different. I also like how you took some time to put Logan and Heather together for a scene. Not many people refer to the affair they had briefly. I suspect his feelings for Jean dwarfed that. But I'm glad you had them chat a little. James sure doesn't make it easy though. It also reminds me of why Logan never cared for Alpha Flight. lol I get the feeling that may cause more tension down the line. James doesn't seem too fond of Logan and Logan has never been fond of James. Add Heather to the mix and there's bound to be more clashes. It'll be interesting to see how that develops. One thing I was a bit disappointed in though is how Logan has yet to sit down with Jean to talk about his feelings for her. I'm glad Jean was able to talk some sense into him, but still I think they should address that at some point especially after what happened between him and Ororo in this chapter. They really opened up here and that could really help make things more serious. At that point they've gotta work some of these things out. But you're the writer. I'll leave it up to you. lol The Forge sub-plot is also interesting. Now that Logan and Ororo have appeared to patch things up, that may cause some more tension. Forge was pretty smitten with Ororo in the comics and while they never had anything in the show, that doesn't mean something can't develop here. That'll be interesting. No doubt about it. I look forward to seeing how it develops. I feel kind of sorry for Hank though. He and Bobby were always pretty close. It's gotta be rough with him hanging around Jean-Paul all the time. I hope he does something to make it up to him. He deserves as such. And maybe down the line he'll get a love interest of his own. I like how you mentioned Carley from the show. They never did follow up on that. Glad you did. lol Just like with the Shi'ar thing, it's good to tie things in. Other relationships like Scott/Jean and Rogue/Remy seem to be doing okay as well. I'm glad you showed some disagreements here and there because that's what couples do. They have disagreements. But I have to wonder with Rogue and Remy whether or not they'll start having baby talks at some point. With two of their friends pregnant, it's gotta kick that biological clock for Rogue. I'm sure she feels it. Maybe Ororo feels it too. It's all part of the drama. But as much as I enjoy the character drama, it feels like there needs to be some action or at least a hint of some brewing in the future. What exactly is their plan anyways? How long are they going to stay on this planet while the FOH tightens their hold on Earth? The last really intense scene was when the X-men escaped from the FOH. When are we going to see something like that again? I know I'd like to see it! Overall, an enjoyable chapter my friend. It was a great read as always. Keep up the excellent work! Slickboy out. |
| gambitfan85 2008-06-24 ch 10, | abuseI'm starting to think Rogue will need to have a little sit down with Bobby and Northstar over this little issue of hers. I'm sure Gambit wouldn't have a problem trying to set it up if it will help ease Rogue's current situation with them. That's why they are so good together. Always trying to help the other one out. Now that I think about it, Northstar and Bobby are currently in the area where Rogue and Gambit are so they could always talk to them in private with the others away. Hmm, it looks like Sam and Jubliee got off to a rocky start, but seem to be doing well together. On the other hand, Jubliee being physically attractive to Radius makes me wonder if something is going happen between those two in the future. Anyway, can't wait for the next chapter. Keep up the great work. |

| Cooper 2008-06-17 ch 9, anon. | abuseI just wanted you to know that I'm very much enjoying this story. I look forward to each new chapter :) |
| slickboy444 2008-06-15 ch 9, | abuseWell I have to say this chapter had many pleasant surprises. It was a nice read and added some things I didn't expect, which is always a plus in my book. First off, you finally mentioned the Shi'ar. I know how some complained what a gaping hole they were in the last series when you left them out, but you've officially closed that hole with this fic and it only took a few lines. lol The Shi'ar being in a state of Civil War is nothing new. In fact, your timing is good because in the comics that's exactly what has been going on. And given all the advanced technology and hardware the Shi'ar have, it would be kind of a cop out of the X-men teamed up with them because they would easily mop the floor with the FOH forces if they were to launch an all out assault. And that's just not very interesting when you get right down to it. Yeah, it'll make things more challenging for the X-men, but it'll make things interesting too. That's not to say a little Shi'ar help wouldn't hurt, just not to the point of being a Deus Ex Machina thing. I also like how you gave James and Heather Hudson some scrutiny. You really highlighted James' stern persona. Part of that may be bitterness from what they survived with the FOH and who they lost, but I get the feeling he talks down to the X-men and doesn't feel they'll give them the help he wants. He sounds like he'll be difficult to work with, but it's not like they have a choice. They need whatever they can get and I think he'll come around eventually. He better for all their sake. lol You're also doing a great job with Bobby and Northstar's relationship so far. I was a bit worried with the last chapter that you would put them together too fast, but this chapter helped lay some of those fears to rest. You've actually made their relationship pretty realistic. I like how Bobby has resisted the efforts of everybody else to get back into training in join the team, but when Jean-Paul starts to push him, he caves. It's sort of an unwritten rule that when you're in a relationship, you're pushed by your partner to do things you wouldn't normally do. I'm sure that's just as true for homosexual couples as heterosexual couples. Bobby has proven that he can be a hero. He did it with the FOH and I think he can do it again if he just gives it a chance. I look forward to seeing where that goes because you have a good handle on Bobby's character and I think this will be good for him in later chapters. Nice to see Logan sit down with Heather as well. You can tell he had a flame for her. But it was definitely surprising to hear that she sort of tricked James into getting her pregnant. That's actually another touch of realism because I have heard stories of women who do that to help their relationship. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. It'll be interesting to see how it pans out here, especially with the dire circumstances. Plus now that Heather will have a baby, Scott and Jean's baby should have a playmate! lol That'll be so cute. I look forward to that! And I see someone is finally taking a shot at Jubilee. It had to happen sooner or later. She's single and pretty attractive. Someone has to roll the dice with her and I'm glad you picked Sam. If I recall from the show, Sam was in his late teens and Jubilee was just in her early teens. So there's not too many years between them. That could definitely work and I think it might be good for them. Although I'm sure Logan will continue to meddle. That's just how he is. lol But it should make for some entertaining drama, especially if sex becomes part of their relationship. Oh the talk they'll have is just too good for words. lol There was a lot to like about this chapter. You've done an excellent job of crafting plotlines and developing them among the characters. I think it's safe to say this is one of my favorite chapters you've done so far. I look forward to seeing more! Keep up the excellent work my friend. This story rocks! Slickboy out. |
